When the population on siege is low the defense is at a severe disadvantage because of the 30 second respawn timer. I would suggest that the flag takes longer to lower when populations on the server are lower to maintain a balance.
Or defensive respawn timers could be lowered.

Either that or the server sets a certain respawn timer when population is lower than X.

Remove spawn timer, switch to tickets.

remove defender infantry attacking attackers outside the walls and archers staying on walls when flag under attack, and now you can do something as defender...

Siege really does need love. It used to be my favorite game and now I can hardly stand it. Let me count the ways...
* So many unbalanced maps. The newer ones often aren't an improvement, with some really simple, nearly impossible to counter ladder bridges that take attackers from spawn point to flag inside of 15 seconds. Meanwhile defenders often spawn 20 seconds away from the flag. Some maps are 0-3 every single time.
* So many "unfun" maps. Maps that just have no strategy to them because there aren't any chokepoints, or if there are, the ones within 10 feet of the flag are the only ones that make any sense.
* 1st round attacker advantage bug. Ugh. Yes, I know the trick to avoid being put on defense on the 1st round. It's still annoying. And the trick only works if 50% of the people don't do it.
Really the only thing keeping some of the maps from being a complete waste are that 80% of the players don't understand them and insist on taking the long way through the map rather than the map ladder here and the medium ladder there and bam, you're on the flag.
Maps with doors that can be opened from the inside tend to be particularly annoying, as it's often easy for attackers to bypass them and they end up hurting the defense as much as if not more than the offense.

idk it seems no one cares about siege....
i posted a lot of stuff about it being broken but people insist im stupid and/or wrong
crpg was designed with battle in mind but i HATE battle whenever i played native i played either siege or deathmatch.now the only option is stupid ass battle
i just wished they fixed siege and the deathmathes and you would never see me in a battle server EVER again battle can go to hell

They should at least change the spawntime for defenders from 30 to 20 or 25 seconds. That might improve alot I think.
And finally do something against the "first round door will break if you sneeze" thingy -.-

Biggest problem is that after the initial autobalance, the balance is simply to even out the teams, after awhile it can really upset the balance.

The major siege issues are obvious and easily fixed. However, the devs are apparently focused on Strategus now, and appear content to let the other game modes die.

siege is the last bastion of hope but it seems like its dwindling
the death matches are kinda banned right now because of abuse (i have not seen any on in my ping area) it could be fixed if they made it the old xp system seeing how killing is the main goal why not make the xp mirror that?
dtv is deader then disco
if there are any other modes i have not seen them in cprg
