My experience is in 1h weapons only.
Why is it that every other weapon type (axes, swords, picks) gain a point of speed when loomed, but not maces/hammers?
I think they should also gain a point. I don't think this would make them unbalanced, but it would bring them in line with the other weapons.
Thoughts?

because gains weight to increase the chance of knockdown and stun
-
But increased weight is also a penalty on movement, and knockdown is rare enough I'd think the benefit of higher weight (.5 wt) is canceled by the movement penalty (or nearly so).
Swords are the longest
Axes break shields
Picks do the most damage
blunts have knockdown
They all have advantages for their type, but blunts are the only ones to not gain speed.

axes do not gain speed
-
Another bonus of higher weight weaponry is you're less likely to be stunned when blocking a heavier weapon. I feel it is a balanced, as the owner of a +3 Iberian Mace

axes do not gain speed
Actually they do.
Thanks for downvoting my hammer thread too nub.

1h maces afaik always get knockdown on opponents that has chambered attack, timed right you can get a knockdown quite often.
I might also add, blunt does almost the same amount of damage as piece on heavy to medium armour... but at the higher armour ratings blunt will surpass even pierce.
