Today a crpgserver rewards some gold and some xp , say its 50/50.
What if there was 2 kinds of crpgservers?
say EU1/NA1 rewarding mainly gold (90%) and xp (10%), and EU2/NA2 mainly XP (90%) gold (10%).
low level chars would tend to play on the XP heavy one, and highlevel would tend to play on the goldheavy one. Mercenaryserver and Peasantville.
Would make all the lowlevel gear shine and get used more. Variety!
And people can have fun playing from the start, instead of being run over by highlevel powerhouses the first days of a gen.
Yay or Nay?

Hmm..I really like this idea..
-
I... can see my "Low level" 33 main hitting the XP version since my gear only costs 11K.
-
I dislike this idea.
This is because I intend to grind as fast as possible to 31 and retire multiple times, but if I do that according to your plans, I won't have any gold to spend on gear and to pay upkeep. It'll take much longer to level up as well, and I'm not one for hopping servers back and forth.
-
Nice idea...
If you want a server full of archer (the xp one) or a server full of cav (the gold one)
 :P
-
Not 90%/10%, but 75%/25% perhaps. And maybe a third server for just 50/50?
Fair idea with some tweaking.
-
Are you crazy?
Alot of people prefer playing battle instead of siege, because on siege you encounter even more idiots than on battle servers and for many other reasons as well.
How many months do you expect a person to play before he can hit lvl 31 then?
Most stupid post I' ve ever seen here
-
Disagree. Way too abusable.
-
I like the idea. But its difficult to see how this would turn out and if its a good thing or not.
Lets assume the xp-server would be full all the time with all the people got into the heirlooming race plus beginners.
Only the few level 31+ players who don't retire (anymore) and the ones saving money to use it in the xp server would play in the gold-based one. The first use normal equipment and stay most time on this server, the latter use cheaper equipment to kick ass with good equipment in the other server and level up faster.
now, back to the question: is this a good thing? :|
-
Why do you think player above 31 don't need xp anymore?
Can't believe anyone believes that.
People above 31 are even more horny for xp because they wanna reach 32/33 etc
And it takes way longer than from 0-31 if you want to reach 33
-
Love this Idea.haters r Jealous.

I was level 33 myself before I got into that heirlooming thing. I didn't cared about xp at all just played with my main or two-three alts. I hope that I will be there some day again, but now that I started it I naturally want a good set of looms first.
Of course can be that people actually strive for reaching level 33 but I imagined most don't care that much no more. Could be wrong, sure.
However, I would like to see how this would turn out.
-
Did you make a post in suggestions? If notni suggest It to make it an Actual suggestion and also add a poll but I like the idea :o :D

Actually alot of players who got all the looms they wanted (me included) are going for higher lvls to get a certain build and they need all the xp they can get :/
my build is more or less ready at lvl 33/34 and I don't think I'm the only one with that

You wouldnt be able to sustain money on xp server, would mean you hop around alot.
I think it would be ok to do a server like 60/40 or 55/45 but I dont think you could go beyond thtose ratios wihtout causing problems.
Nice thought tho.
-
Nay, cuz i wanna get xp all the time and the gold, so the system we have now is very good IMO
-
On the NA side also it already seems like not enough people play to divide the player base even further.
-
I like the idea, but it will buff cheap equipment and light armor even more (scalable gold/xp income ratio means you can grind faster with the same cheap set of equipment than now). Medium armor needs some love.
-
XP can be converted to money (by selling a heirloom). You also get XP gen bonus but no gold bonus.
Almost everyone would eventually play on the 90% XP servers (but with cheaper equipment ofc).

I totally agree with the Muffin, apart from that I think a 75%/25% could work too. Although 70/30 might be the best.

This reminds me of Kesh spamming a whole thread about how many more players there are in NA than europe. Even after chadz posted the exact numbers (50-something EU, 30-something NA and rest Asia/Oceania/Africa)
