Title: Jack of all trades
Post by: Stabby_Dave on October 03, 2011, 12:52:51 am
So, theres a guy in EU called Lordi. Every round seems to be using a different weapon. He uses shields, rides horses, shoots bows and xbows. Of course he sucks with such a ridiculous build but it got me thinking.

Can anyone come up with a semi-practical build with which you can use most weapons/classes. Using all would be a bit ridiculous but say 4 different proficiencies - 1h, 2h, pole, archer/xbow. I just think it would be kinda fun to just stroll the battlefield picking up whatever weapon off the ground took your fancy.

This what i could come up with

18/18

15/18

Suggestions?

Nail on the head I think, he might have level to 32+ for more advantages.

The horse archery is pushing it, but otherwise it seems like an exciting build. Massive trolling ensued for sure. :D

HA included in build = +1000 troll points automatically.

Works well but only 15 strength limits what weapons you can pick up. Ideally id want to be able to just pick up and use most weapons.

My super-hybrid infantry/cav build

Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)

    Strength: 18
    Agility: 18

    Power Strike: 6
    Shield: 5
    Athletics: 6
    Riding: 6
    Weapon Master: 6

    One Handed: 120

Whoa.

Amazing, it's really similar to the "jack of all trades" build I made few days ago.

My suggestion:
More strength, less agility and don't worry too much about your wpf for anything except archery and throwing.

You can certainly kill people with 1 wpf in polearms, 2h and 1h, especially if your strength is high.  No, you probably won't be beating many people in a duel but if you're good with timing you can often get in a good hit while they're distracted with someone else.  Footwork, feints and delaying swings probably do more than wpf anyway (put a 1 wpf vet against a 150 wpf noob and see who wins).

Archery and throwing are different since it impacts their accuracy, and a 1 wpf in throwing will have you miss people at 3 meters, but a well timed Great Maul at 1 wpf will bash through someone's shield and knock them to the floor just fine.

When I played an archer, if I ran out of arrows or particularly if there were people on the flag in siege, I'd often drop my bow, pick up the nearest large weapon (1 wpf), ready an overhand and see who I could brain.  It worked well enough.
