Title: Let's Make cRPG a friendlier Place --TOLERANCE--
Post by: Philosiraptor on January 30, 2011, 07:14:14 pm
If you want friends, if you want to be likable, then it's a case of being tolerant. Here are some ideas for becoming more tolerant. I have noticed an abundance of hate and racism. So, today, I aim to help put an end to this madness.

Using my guidelines, cRPG can be a more calm and comfortable environment!

Remember the Golden Rule
"Treat others how you would like to be treated."

== Warnings ==
*No matter how intolerant you are, you will never change the way a person is by hating them.
*Nobody will just go away, they are here on this earth as you are.

== Things You'll Need ==
*Open mind
*Open heart

Does this look like the YMCA to you? Also.

*Nobody will just go away, they are here on this earth as you are.

Unless you "make" them go away, if you catch my drift.

Well, to be honest, if you hate people just strong enough (and act accordingly) they WILL disappear. Trust me. I am a German. I know what I am talking about

If this thread was meant seriously, I would have appreciated it really. But with all those gay pictures...  :?

Basically this is not impossible. But you need a system of punishment by pain for it.  :?

That wouldn't as such be teaching it right from wrong, merely conditioning it not to do certain actions.

No, this thread is more like throwing a bucket of blood in a shark infested pool then going for a swim. Can't help but think it's just a troll. Either that or someone very very unfamiliar with the internetz and more specifically gaming communities. People here spend their gaming time virtually killing each other with big axes and arrows and shit. Are you sure you're in the right place for this tolerance bullshit?

If it were to troll anyone, then its target would be degenerates. Other than that it strikes me as a joke. You're a better troll than OP.

I don't think "troll" means what you think it means.

Ok, if you wish to believe that then do so. I think labeling people as trolls is far too overused, what the OP of the topic has done is nothing but promote positive things, the only way it could troll somone is if they're unreasonable and think that focusing on negative aspects of peoples nature all the time is a worthy state of being and that promoting anything contrary is wrong, dumb and worthless.

And if you don't wish to take the thread seriously at its worst its a bad joke, thus I can't see anything in it that would troll 'good people' and the only people who it would troll are people who are close minded and have a narrow perspective on other people and how we should behave, therefore in my opinion are only victims of their own preconceptions and not of a troll.

I agree with the post in regards to racism, but that's about it.  It's much better to loathe people as individuals than widespread groups.  Except for hippies.  And emo kids.  Fuck them.

Well if you are racist simply don't play M&B its made by Turkish developers
Probably most of your hardware is produced in Asia
The operating system you are using is mainly developed by Indians
Someone has to be utterly stupid to be racist here (if its serious), but since we are in spam forums, racism is just fun. Example : the gentleman who commented before me is a hairy fat blob from America aka Land of the Sick, Home of the Obese.

That's not racist though.  American isn't a race.  :P

Ironically, even though racism is about the classical definitions of the human races (White, black, red and yellow for simplicity sake) the scientific community has cast aside even that notion:
Quote
There is no scientific consensus of a list of the human races, and few anthropologists endorse the notion of human "race".[114] For example, a color terminology for race includes the following in a classification of human races: Black (e.g. Sub-Saharan Africa), Red (e.g. Native Americans), Yellow (e.g. East Asians) and White (e.g. Europeans).

Referring to natural species, in general, the term "race" is obsolete, particularly if a species is uniformly distributed on a territory. In its modern scientific connotation, the term is not applicable to a species as genetically homogeneous as the human one, as stated in the declaration on race (UNESCO 1950).[115] Genetic studies have substantiated the absence of clear biological borders, thus the term "race" is rarely used in scientific terminology, both in biological anthropology and in human genetics. What in the past had been defined as "races"—e.g., whites, blacks, or Asians—are now defined as "ethnic groups" or "populations", in correlation with the field (sociology, anthropology, genetics) in which they are considered.

Still, even according to classical scientific dogma American wasn't a race.

I'm all for hatespeech. Keeps the internet rolling, and honestly: it's not much prettier IRL. It's just written down here, so it looks more serious, because it's permanent. People basically do the same on the streets. Don't tell me you never laughed at or joked about some type of people. A funny-looking old woman, an emo kid, a fatty out of breath, etc.

As always: haters gonna hate.

AFAIC, everyone has an opinion on everyone, including myself. Do the people in which you feel negatively opinionated towards deserve to have you openly critisize them in situations where they've done nothing to wrong you, haven't directly created any problems for your well being? I'd answer no.

It feels like anyone who wishes to share their hate of certain social groups or ethnicities all the time make any excuse, argue any way they can to hide the fact they have little self control and are unable to hold their tongues, are unable to come to rational conclusions to explain why they say what they do and in the end of the day they just do what daddy told them to do, and that's HATE him, HATE her, HATE that, HATE this.

Almost anyone, no matter how perfect you think you are can be singled out and attacked for what they are and who they are even when it's uncalled for, and I'm sure everyone can relate to this, even if you disagree with what I've been saying. The difference is you can either be as bad as them or better than them. Self control vs irrational critisizm justified by hate.

Indeed. Though, as you get older, it's mostly just people with opinions you don't approve of.
