Be it your helpless virgin, your tower, or your hightailing it away from the elites on the battlefield, you gotta at least have SOME KIND of music you march to. Post a Youtube Video of what you use, or any mp3 or...you know...what's not a virus.

Also, way too much Crust Punk and D-beat. Occasionally some metal of various sorts, But mostly hardcore punk and ska nowadays.

Also, Uumdi, The Czech Republic has lots of pretty awesome Grindcore bands, if you're into that. Spasm comes to mind off the top of my head.

Haha, I know Mephiskapheles, never saw them live or anything.  I liked Operation Ivy, Catch 22, and Kid Dynamite alot.  Recently got into this hardcore / punk band called Set It Straight.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS0OH9KUnsw

My tastes have lightened up over the years, but I still love the energy behind this stuff.  The Lillingtons are a favorite.  A lot of their stuff is a little poppy, but they're not obnoxious in the least bit (to me haha)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEoapQdUJ_M

I'll check em all out, thanks guys.  As far as grindcore goes... hahaha, I listened to AxCx years years years ago, hahahaha.  Can't sit there and actually listen to the stuff though.

Total War series has some really good music, also somewhat fitting if you are a (semi)rpmy old friend. The second piece is especially strong, for the lack of a better short description. I got shogun2 recently, it probably has some great tracks too but for now I usually just remember

I also like various instrumental pieces for gayming or in general, which  seems to be a common trend here. If playing m&b I have a slight preferrence to ones without obviously modern instruments.

also has some very great background tracks, they kind of blend in with the show when you watch it, but I think these are almost all pretty damn excellent on their own. Didn't really like any of the intro/outro songs, maybe the very first one kind of grew on me after a while. It also turns out to be harder than expected to find the actual tracks, instead of someones homosexual relationship with a imaginary character or some shitty remix.

Stuff some people would consider gay, it doesn't really fit m&b much but they are neat action tracks. Basically I could list several tracks from both series under this.

Damn, I see a lot of Two Steps From Hell here, didn't really know it before, but despite its metal sounding name it's awesome!

Afaik Uematsu is not dead. But yeah I see your point though. The modern version is somewhat more pleasant to the ear but it lacks the flourish and overall feeling of the original.

Two Steps From Hell gets many good critiques and all, but I dont rate it tbh, there are MUCH better choices than them for Epic Scores.

Try youtube for Future World Music. They do a GOOD epic score. Also Ennio Morricone's scores are something else.

Alot of Trivium. Some Metallica and megadeth, and more medivally is Holy Grail, you should check them out they arent too heavy but it kinda shares a theme without being shit battle metal. I saw these live and was converted!
