Suggestion:
- All of the items you own will be in one pool with that account and usable on all of the characters. Only MAIN can trade the items.
- Duplicate items autodeleted or sold.
- Gold pooled into 1 chest.
Benefits:
- No need to re-buy the same items on every character. No need to re-grind gold. Think of it this way: A new heir to your main characters family who has access to his fathers/mothers warchest, smithy and stables. Family Heirlooms would be truly family heirlooms.
- I imagine this also would clean up the database quite a bit.
-
This would make my item list way too big to look through, considering I have a character for every class... 16 characters even not counting duplicates... that adds up to the majority of the shop items :/

You are right, I did not consider people who own majority of the shop, have to think this through carefully. Perhaps a function that allows user to create custom load-outs could be used to fix this.
-
it would make alt more viable but also heirlooms more common as well thus those who do not have such heirloms would see an increase in difficulty
i would like to see this implemented but in a way where u would maybe pay to be able to use looms on alts?
(just an example till a better sulotion is shown)
-
its only fair to those who have earned it over multiple accounts
-
HUGE +1 to you MISTER !
-
I think it would be better to be able to change your main character (with a cooldown ofc).
-
Perhaps you should be able to create an item pool on choice, then distribute gear to a selected character when you want. Items can be re-added to the pool whenever too.
I like this idea.
-
I don't understand what this heirloom fuss is all about. Because it seems everyone has them, go around the battlefield almost every weapon is heirloomed.
Do +2/+3 weapons really make that much of a difference? Most players are of different levels/classes/outfits anyhow. Of course no lifers will have everything upgraded, and have a ton of gold, but who cares?

Considering I already have more items than will load in game on my main, no problem here.
My response to this is simple: oh god yes please. Note: I haven't really thought about wider ramifications and am only considering personal benefit.

i like the idea of course im new so i really wouldnt have many benefits beside gold sharing
-
Sounds like a really good idea actually. And there's a way to do it that wouldn't clutter up your inventory too. All we'd have to add would be some 'minimizeable/maximizable' menus for different types of inventory gear. That way if you're on your archer, you can minimize all your 2h, 1h, Poles, etc. Or if you're on your 2h, you can swap and minimize your shields, Poles, bows, etc. Could work pretty well that way. Otherwise it would be a mongolian item clusterfuck.

I just wish I could cannibalize one or two of my characters by giving all of it's exp/gold/items to my main. :(
I earned all of it, why can't I use it?

No on items, yes on gold.
-
Items should stay with the character. However having universal gold would be a good thing.

+1

I'd prefer only gold to be shared, because buying an item is a one time deal, whereas gold is proportionate to time played. The more alts you have, the more sharing an item would be beneficial.
If items were shared, I'd suggest doubling their buying price, and reducing upkeep cost percentage.
-
Why?
An item bought is gold exchanged for the item.
Therefore items are proportionate to gold, and gold is proportionate to time played as you have stated.
Therefore items are proportionate to time played.
With a large marketplace this would put an and to item wasting. Just have the main put it on the second hand market whenever the player desires.
-
If items were shared then you could purchase one helmet and use it for all your chars. Not sharing items would mean that you would have to purchase items individually for each character. There is definitely a difference.

this.

+1!

I want universal everything, gold, items and xp.
-
Gold, yes!

Yeah I agree. This idea gets a big +1 from me. I'm sure it wouldn't to hard to implement a load out system and issue a char a few items to select from in battle.
-
yes please to item + gold share.
Shared account gold & items would actually help new players more than vets.
I only have one +3 item and with strategus coming back I need to stay at level 30+ on my main so now I can't retire anymore to heirloom more stuff which will keep me behind vets who have their whole suits heirloomed.
If I could keep my main at high level for strategus but grind out on an alt on normal servers I could still gain heirlooms and the wealth they represent helping me catch up.
