-no
-no
-maybe but why bother?

Archery is fine where it is, it really needs no more love, if we could just make xbow require a bit more wpf to use effectively then I'd say all in crpg was good :P You dont need these additions to make archery viable, archers often top servers atm so its not like its a 'useless' or 'underpowered' class

- Sure, why not
- No, you people are supposed to be in light armor.
- Why would this be good?

Never said it is, I had different reasons for these suggestions, but didn't state them. Should I?

  • Allow an amount of armor weight before wpf penalty kicks in
- No, you people are supposed to be in light armor.
Well, I was going to suggest about up to around 3, which gives no penalty for wearing light armor and reduced penalty for wearing lite-medium armors (Like lamellar vest and colored tunic over chainmail)

  • Add Practice Arrows (Negative blunt damage)
- Why would this be good?
I wanted to see round headed arrows sticking out from people

Round headed arrows can't pierce so how would they stick out of people?
And again no, you have enough armor as it is.

Archer hater :(!

Lolz, I just wanted to have more choices on either arrows or outfits, and weren't there archers in chainmails during the medieval ages? It would greatly improve the overall immersion in battle as we always only see robin hoods on the field :P

  • Press "x" to switch between different types of arrows

So you can swap between cut and pierce arrows? so you can save your bodkins for knights and tatars and stuff for peasants, why not.

No end of discussion.

Uhh negative blunt damage? so basically healing arrows? :P .... NO.
BUT ive always liked the idea of having blunt arrows with like 1-3 blunt damage, or even 0 damage that cause knockdown, for the lols.

Yes, This would've been useful for me when I was playing as an archer. I disliked seeing my long-bow not doing practically any damage against plate because apparently I was shooting Tartar arrows instead of my Bodkins at it.

Hell No

What?

Archery is more viable than ever. Stop fucking crying.

I was convinced you could carry 7 or 8 weight into battle before the drop kicks in.  Shit I wish I had a source to reference there, but I'm pretty positive the dropoff starts above 0, somewhere around 7 or 8

I heard it was 7.

- Nah, I'd rather see the x-button used for the indirect shot :P
- got 7,4 weight and i don't notice any difference when i play nekkid. I read that 7,5 is the maximum.
- I WANT KNOCKDOWN-ARROWS. Ok, no. But Fire-Arrows (That don't do more dmg) would be more awesome.

Agreed. wpf drop start kicking off at... 8 ? And it kicks harder if you're an archer.
Wich is normal. So :
1. Why not.
2. No.
3. Useless, no.

7.7 units of armor weight, gauntlets count as double, helms as tripple.

The more you know...

Yes.
Already there.
Not sure.

Blunt arrow would technically rape armor as well as the bodkins  :|

So.. We already have 7 weight allowance before penalty kicks in? I thought it was 0 for archery and 7-something for other wpf. I can't find any thread or post confirming this! Or I'm just not looking hard enough.

So you can swap between cut and pierce arrows? so you can save your bodkins for knights and tatars and stuff for peasants, why not.
Exactly!

BUT ive always liked the idea of having blunt arrows with like 1-3 blunt damage, or even 0 damage that cause knockdown, for the lols.
Exactly, too! For the lols.

Archery is more viable than ever. Stop fucking crying.
Why do people naturally consider me crying? I never breathed a word about archery being unbalanced, Jesus.

That is why the negative damage that should make it useless against high armor and minimal damage against light armor

I was just too lazy to switch arrows every round and the inconsistent upkeep that always threw me off balance :)

Yes! Or Fire-Arrows! Make it act like smoke-bombs, creating smoke particle effects and deal damage to doors/ladders alike.

You would need, like... -10-15 damage to be truly bad agaisnt anything.

How about flaming arrows? Be cool for tracking and lighting up maps at night as they stream through the air. press x to light them up...

I wear 11.6 + 9 kg of weapons (rus + bodkins + hammer)
Pretty heavy, I think my aim is ok for a melee shooter @ 8 PD and 146 WP

Because you're trying to change something that doesn't really need to be changed outside of changeable arrows perhaps, IMO. My tone was harsh, but I feel that we really shouldn't mess archery up right now with stuff that would possibly turn it back into the majority of CRPG hating the skill even more. (Of course, 2h will always cry, I do the same to them that I do to archers, I tell them to stop fucking crying and pick up a shield.)

That being said. Fire arrows would be an interesting thing in strat, perhaps give them the same sort of damage that a broad-bladed polearm would give against structures and doors? I could totally see a group of defenders using fire arrows to help burn down fortifications or enemy siege engines.

Because I was trying to change something that doesn't need to be changed? Well, 2 out of 3 of my suggestions were to add functions/items that should not effect the balance too much (Well, the arrow switching part might?) And the only change I suggested was kept to a minimal amount, but I'll edit that, still.

I need blunt arrows! Then i can stun/annoy even more people instead of my 1 PD pierce stun arrows! Ofcourse, horse included.
