I hate to start a new thread on this but the formulas I can find throughout the forums aren't working out for me.
Level 20
87 throwing
4 power throw
2.8 helmet armor (x3)
1 hand armor (x2)
15.5 body armor
2.8 boot armor
The formulas I've seen are on the lines of:
Effective wpf = actual wpf * (1 - 0.01 * effective armor weight)
Effective armor weight = helm*3 + gloves*2 + chest + boots - 7
So filling this in with my data:
Effective wpf = 87 * (1 - 0.01 * 21.7)
Effective wpf = 68
At 13 wpf each that's enough for 5 power throw (if it's 14 wpf each then it's enough for 4 power throw).
Yet I get the message saying I don't have enough proficiency. In fact, I get the message while wearing several pounds less!
The formula isn't off by a little, it's off by a lot.
Anyone have the new data?

2 head
11.5 torso
1 hand
1.8 foot
(14.3 effective armor weight)
Still get the message.
Switch to 1.3 head -- 12.2 effective weight. Message goes away... trying to narrow it down more...
Switch to 1.8 head -- 13.7 effective weight. Message still gone. So I've narrowed it down to within 0.2 helmet weight difference, message vs non...
====
So 4 power throw @ 13 wpf each means I need 52 effective wpf.
87 wpf is enough for 4 power throw at 13.7 effective weight
87 wpf is not enough for 4 power throw at 14.3 effective weight
Paging all math nerds... all math nerfs please come to the thread.

I tried doing testing a while back when this 14 wpn prof shit came out. And it seems that with higher weight armor the required wpn prof tiers dramaticly.
Wearing heavy armor requires more than 22 wpn prof per PT and thats light heavy armor.
Your better off making a STF character and gaining enough cash to buy the equipment you want to wear on your main, then slowly level up the wpn prof to see how much is needed with that certain set on.
Hurray waste a whole week of STF Fun while testing YAY!

Can you post the formula? Pretty please?

It's rocket science and a very, very ugly formular. Posting it would be against chadz' doctrin of no transparency.

Please just get rid of this silliness Paul. Using throwing with low wpf already means you will go broke, at least let us pick up some of those throwing weapons we are paying like 1000g/round to use.
Throwing is nearly dead right now, which leads to endless whining about crossbows. Just allow people to use throwing as a sidearm without this stupid formula.
Under what realm of realism would an extra gram on your shoes prevent you from picking up an axe from the ground?

Something to ponder...
You can easily have and benefit from Power Strike 8 (or even 10) while wearing full plate.
I don't think it's physically possible to benefit from Power Throw 10, even naked, if these numbers scale the way they appear. You would never get enough wpf to do it, since Weapon Mastery takes agility and Power Throw takes strength.
