Title: Take a peek at the guides section (and my new construction sites guide)
Post by: Phazey on September 21, 2011, 11:38:40 am
Just in case you missed it:

The guides section on this forum. Good stuff there.

I just wrote a quick guide for using construction sites. Comments and additions welcome:

Yeah, i know it's shameless advertising on the general forum and most of you already seen most of the guides. In that case, ignore my post and just let it sink. :)

Feel free to use this thread to give feedback about the usage of construction sites in siege and battle modes. Or to advertise any guides you think are important.

P.S.: Once, ages ago, i wrote a guide on the use of tactics and teamplay. Look it up if you've never seen it.

Shameless bump. Trying to inform the public about the new siege equipment in siege and battle mode.

Please do NOT abuse siege towers to block access to flags. It is not allowed!

You should expand this to con sites, they have way too many hitpoints. Also, blocking access to a winch is sometimes extremely effective. These are pretty easy to abuse with the new Weapon Rack.

Agreed Lange, using construction sites to block access is also not allowed. That's an old 'rule' but it's good to repeat that here.

Do NOT use siege towers or construction sites to block access to flags.

I hope we can all learn to use construction sites in a fun, constructive way without too much admin intervention. But again, if you see misuse of siege equipment, be sure to 1) explain that it's not allowed and 2) get an admin if needed.

Wierd Engllish humor?  Like Benny Hill, disturbing and not quite funny.

I dont know if this rule is even official as of yet, but anyway, it is not being followed. Blocking is not exactly gamebreaking as of yet, but its effective (and fun, as I found. Not so much for the attacker, though.) Suggestion: lower hitpoints to a reasonable level. If anyone wants to keep the element of fortifying, add those wooden spikes that floated around as suggestion some time.

I feel really bad about standing around "the strange pile of sticks" wondering why it made me moonwalk now

hit points are just fine. 1 person can destroy it in about 10 seconds.

Thats not exactly the Epitome of British humour. British humour is mostly dry and sadistic humour.
