Hi guys!
I've trained alot to master the long voulge ! I've spent more than 400 hours of my life to make it a deadly weapon ! More than 1000 hours of training on the duel servers, in battles and sieges. Every day i've been training for 2-3 hours to become a good fighter.
When you touched the long voulge for the first time, you weakened it's attack power and increased the difficulty from 12 to 17, i didn't say a word and hence Bars was born ! Your laters patches have completely ruined my style and my precious ! Admins, please give me back my 3 loom points that i've spent on my Loung Voulge or give it back 4 attack directions . Stop changing the game balance and do more strategus stuff, that's all we're asking from you !

Going to agree, 4 attack directions made it a cool & unique weapon. it was unbalanced and had pretty bad stats. it made the weapon unique and useful.

Are you kidding me? Long voulge is with 175 length the longest shield breaker weapon out there, beating even the swiss halbert by 13 reach. Side swings looked absolutely retarded with them.

Just don't get mad, but PM cmp or chadz in a calm way.
I'm pretty sure that as admins come to know your case,
they will let you redistribute that 3 heirloom points,
or substitute long voulge for another MW weapon of your choice.
Anyway, good luck for that.

the weapon changed.
Bars, what about Glaive ? Thats a similar weapon, switch to that.

You developers have some strange view on this mod, maybe because you don't play it enough to know what's actually happening, which weapons are popular and which aren't and so on...
I'm a scavenger, which means I pick stuff from the ground, I know very well what others use, long voulge is very low on that list :wink:

Bars, you can try but I don't think you'll succeed. They are too busy, every player is the same in their eyes, no matter if it's a cheater, random and less frequent players, regular, someone who plays a real lot... we are all the same and our voice equally doesn't matter at all.

Yea the weapon was already less used already. People who used it used it for style and it's uniqueness. Now it's just pretty much not worth using.

Basically, it's a dead and undesirable weapon. Maybe will some nasty necrophiliac fuck with it, other than that it's a corpse of a weapon...
But balancers say otherwise. After all. both of them have played this mod for 20 hours together in last 4 months (as I was being VERY active), one exclusively on xbow char, the other on shielder (he even wrote guide to succesful 1h+shield playstyle :rolleyes:) and recently tried some lancers using silly horses. They know shit, fuck yeah!
Should we mention bad administrator who was very active as well...
Seriously if Meow said anything about weapons I would listen, not because it's his job but because he played the most (by a huge margin) of all dev team.

Yea poor guy bars, admins take pity upon this lonely soul. his one true goal in life was to master that weapon and it hath been degraded and discriminated untill its metal soul itself hath been destroyed, poor weapon , poor lad' ee and poor world.
This is a sad story for a many who come upon this forum thread, and i'd ask all of you to read up upon thy lords bible to find a passage that duly fits such an atrosity.

Further downgraded the weapon made those player who spent alot of time on that so call long voulge wasted... is okie with pikes lol 2 directions attack. but that weap in real life is able to use like that :S isnt it?

I have to agree this is complete bullshit - remove shieldbreak tag "fine" (I still wouldn't approve of it. but it's better then this), you said it was "the longest shieldbreak weapon" to justify this nerf.
Btw I have a 1h (admittedly no shield) alt and I wouldn't call 1h "weak" against long, slow polearms. Rather the opposite.
Now you made it into the exact copy of the swiss halberd - just cheaper, slower and with a worse stab.
Not fun.

Do not get Bars away from us, i hate being killed by him, but also i adore him for his skills with this beauty. Removing side swings on this is retarded, you want everyone to play mainstream weaponry and builds, then just remove the others instead of making them useless and stay there for us to stare and try to remember the good old times.

But i guess some of dev have gotten some extra looms in the meanwhile since they are so much against it..

The long voulge is very slow, does mediocre damage, is unbalanced, and is unsheathable. It really doesn't need a restriction to two attack directions on top of that.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually seen it used in battle.

I do agree that they should give long voulge the attack back, it was never a overused op weapon. Though generally i love that devs continue game balance by all means.
also your poll is bad. there is no option to say they did everything well, even if i don't agree.

How is rendering a weapon totally useless balancing?
and if so, if you do such gamebreaking changes (and removing attack direction IS gamebreaking change), you should at least make those people that spent looms on the (now) piece of crap weapon get their looms back, this just saddens most of us, and as you can see, we can even feel bad for ONE SINGLE VOULGE using guy, as Bars, face it, is sort of sight on the server. I always recognized him just thanks to the weapon and his playstyle. So, be grands and give him some loom points!
(on the other hand, generally resetting all looms will be bad, many ppl made lots of gold by selling them and they could just do it again, but the people that bought some would be screwed, no looms, no money = bad idea, you would have to revert all them market stuff that happened in order to get some fair result, which would take AGES)

bring back the long voulge side swings. was a gimp weapon already. (and no.. i speak as a 2hander.)

It was pretty much the only polearm bought in Strat. With the occational long spear mixed in. 175 reach, 37c, sideswings - pick 2.
Maybe a higher cut damage stab might be ok.

Yeah but only because the strat servers are so laggy, that fighting with a short weapon was ridiculous. When the servers stay that laggy, the nerf to the weapon was useless anyway, because half of the polearm users will spam overhead with it and the other half will spam with pikes/longspears...
I cant understand at all, why the eu strat server sucks so much, it was never that laggy with the old one. As soon as there are more then 30 guys on eu3 the ping raises and it becomes more and more unplayable, when there are like 100 players my ping is like 58 instead of 19 and playing just pisses me of :evil:

Market fucked it up. You would have to remove all gold for heirloom reset, and I'm not sure people would like that.
Full wipe. The only way to make it 100% fair & square. Everyone becomes level 1 generation 1 again, with 100 gold. Would make things interesting, concerning the amount of changes & new players since the last time it was done. Also - remove all whining & crying threads that ammased so far. The only way to revive the mod which is pretty much dead at the moment (and by "dead" i don't mean the number of people playing it, there will always be more then enough no-brain addicts).

I just noticed this thread have gotten a vote system, wether to re-imburse his loom points or to re-do the Voulge.
In C-rpg's past history, and with no doubt it's future, changes will occour to any/all the items within. It is unavoidable. I want to thank the admins and developers for their good work in this regard. And this simple yet.. Very defining, "Poll" tells me alot. Willingness to reconsider. Find alternatives. All such. Very splendid.

Developers seem to hate unique weapons. The long voulge was unique in the sense that it had 4 attack directions while being incredibly long, but it had shit stats apart from that. Which made it a very underused weapon, Bars was pretty much the unique long voulge user.
Please stop making the items so linear and the same. We need more choices. Now its just higher price, higher stats, higher weight, especially for armors. Give people choices to get high stats for a higher price but for lower weight. Or give a long weapon 4 attack direction while making it very weak. We need options.

It was everything but overpowered in the normal crpg, it was so much used in strat becouse with those strategus pings long lenght weapons obviously gain priority by buyers, just make it costs 2/3k more and the problem would be solved for strategus, but changing it after it had been 4 directions swing for months is somewhat dumb
EDIT:I remember a situation similar to this when the normal awlpike was nerfed to be used without a shield

Now is when I should insert a tacky joke, because having fought Bars on several of my toons, I feel he is overpowered enough as it is, nomatter which weapon he uses. So the Third optional vote should be: Have Druzhina_Bars run around without armor and with a Khyber Knife. Give us newbs a shot at life in C_Rpg.

None of this should matter with the Strategus map NA/EU split-up. But I might be wrong and was mis-informed. But won't Strategus futurely work as if you're either European or North American, when playing a Strategus match?

As said before, I agree. It's a feintly used weapon to begin with. Personally I see one use it every 5 hours on a Well-used Voulge Day. If unlucky. 1 person once a month. Really. No point nerfing something that is not overpowered, or over-used!
