Title: Throwing proficiency too low?
Post by: Turkhammer on September 19, 2011, 07:34:30 pm
I get throwing proficiency too low line on the screen at every spawn.  My wpf is 80 for throwing.  What's that notice trying to tell me?

That you have too less wpf in throwing compared to your throwing skill.

I'm told you need 13-14 wpf per powerthrow, in addition to 10 wpf per Horse Archery, and you need more if you wear heavy armor.

Iirc you can go up to 9PT and have enough wpf with decent armor.

I have 5 PT and 80 wpf in throwing.  Seems to be in the correct ratio.  I have a brynie and Sarranid helmet, nothing too much.

With the recently-added "weapon proficiency affecting upkeep cost", this additional requirement needs to go away. If I want to pay huge repair bills and not be able to hit anything more than 3 ft away, I should be able to have 10 PT and 1 throwing wpf and still be able to pick up throwing weapons.

Poor proficiency with a weapon should increase the chance that you break it. That's realistic and balanced.

It shouldn't prevent me from being able to reach down and pick one up.
