Guess the devs can do a lot of stuff now with WSE, so lets make it fair for all classes
when you jump you cannot attack or block, and it interrupts already prepared attack or blocks
so jumping will be like it should be only a way to get over some objects on map like fence etc.

And when you add that you cant draw a bow or shoot or lance when horses jump then ill +1 this
Its useless in mele anyway, atleast against anyone with half a brain

heh now that you mention it i can see people doing that especialy on the ends of those retardedly placed preset indestructable ladders with weird angles.
so yea untill they fix these kind of spots jump slash is a must have

I totally support that, as I'm not pleased with the way it goes for archery the whole time, but nothing changing for melee/cav.
What is also stupid about jump hitting is, that people jump and then overhead over/through a wall or whatever, to kill a person hiding behind it to be save from archers.....remove it from the game so it is at least a bit fair
You have archers/crossbowers/thrower for campers ;) And the possibility to poll them or to ask an admin. If there are not enough admins, well...that's another story here on the forums, not working as it could be :/

That's actually fine by me...
Jumping for cav is more a form of escape than a form of attack.
If it means that inf, archers and cav all have to lose jump attack. Then so be it. I just don't think you can remove jump attacking archers without removing any of the others.

Currently they can do this as well.
They need only to block and your jump becomes a fall.
I support the fairness for all thing, because i am tired of all the jumping tin-cans.

Um yes, except with the change your jump wouldn't become a fall, they'd slash your head off while you try to jump on that roof/whatever.

So don't follow them up the roof. Just like you shouldn't follow a kiting archer. Then either let the archers do the work, or make it a kick able offence like standing in unreachable places.

And what if they have shields up on the roof? What if it's a high roof? What if it's not a roof but some other elevated place? Make what a kickable offense, jumping somewhere? Then why not remove jump altogether? "Don't follow them".... so the whole round is two teams staring at eachother from across rooftops?

If they have shields, they will be to busy protecting themselves from arrows and so you will be able to jump up there. Otherwise they will get shot anyway.

If it's an elevated place that cannot be reached by normal weapons and has only one route that requires jumping then it could be classed as a kickable offense like people standing in unreachable places. Either that or inf will just have to deal with it. But tbh I've rarely seen it (except maybe on ruins), where this would apply.
Edit:
Jump shooting had a lot of practical uses (not only in kiting), just as jump slashing does. But that didn't stop it getting removed. So I don't see why jump slashing shouldn't either. Or jump lancing ect.

It only takes one person to guard the ladder to the roof, so no.
Yes they would if this change was implemented. Why would they not? Archers are on roofs because they can't be reached by melee. Why would melee not go on roofs and get freekills on anyone coming up and being untouchable by other melee?

How would removing jump slashing help the one person guarding a ladder thing?
I can see it affecting jumping up to roofs ect. But on ladders, you don't really need to jump attack. When you get off a ladder, jump attacking hardly improves your chances any more than normal jumping would.

Fixed ladders, not player deployed ones. Anyhow, those are the reasons it won't get implemented.

damn i thought its obvious... yes no horse jump attacks included
so that jumps are manner of movement on map and not a part of combat for all classes (horses included)

Remove any able action while jumping/jumping on horseback. Not even be able to turn around when you jump also.
Jumping should lock.
Also i vote for removing any attacks able when turning your horse.

well said this is got to be the most stupid post... do you really want all the meele to get pissed at this game because u cant block someone jumping? IF anything bring back the jump kiting and leave it at that, obviously that wont happen so we will just leave it as it is. the jumping to the melee and archer is what makes the game fun, if you rtake that out too then this game really would be nerfed to shit and more people will quit it from when the upkeep came into affect

As a ninja I cannot support this. A big part of our RP style is doing stupid jumpslashes.

It's annoying, counterintuitive and silly now. Watching a fight is less about position and defense than spinning, jumping silliness.
The game is what it is, but for my part I'd really prefer to see that all good hits come from people who have their feet solidly on the ground. Sure you should be able to move while attacking, but there would be no force behind the swing.
I guess I am chagrined at the arcade-ness of it right now. Seeing polearm guys facing the ground swinging left to right creating a big area hit around them, not even swinging 'at' their opponent. It's unappealing, and creates a really unfortunate gameplay.
