Title: Riding question
Post by: ildist on September 15, 2011, 03:29:25 am
So what are the extra riding point bonuses, like if I use a courser with 5 or 6 riding is there a difference between speed and hp intake?

Is there a quicker deceleration?

The developers should remove this action imo or improve it by not making it instant.
The only good thing about it is also a bad thing; it is damn hard to use :)

You basically need to do it with one hand so you can use your mouse at the same time.
Not easy to get the fingers in place in the heat of battle.

I always get impressed by those who successfully stops their horse and while you pass them they hit you.
I've only got killed like that like 2 times though.

I think each point above the horses requirement increases speed and maneuver by 8%.
I'm not certain about this though so yeah.

I don't know the numbers but I know that it doesn't have to be above the requirement. If you had two identical statwise horses, except one is riding 3 and one is riding 4. Then with 4 riding they would still be the same.

It is per point, not per point above, just like PD and bow requirements.

Wait. They changed PD and bow requirements or did you do a typo or something?

To clarify, 5 PD for a 5 PD bow will grant a 70% bonus, just as 5PD to a 2 PD bow will grant 70% bonus.
This is why a Longbow hits like a truck, even though the damage is less the a Bec, due to more stacking of the 14% per PD then your 8% from PS.

Yeah, but using a difficulty 1 horse with 8 riding skill would be the same bonus as a difficulty 8 horse with 8 riding. It doesn't have the "up to 4 above" restriction that PD has.

Yeah, hence me saying "Per point, not per point above." Perhaps that was interpreted differently... Maybe I should have used Shields and the shield skill as an example since they have no limit.

Yeah, cause what you wrote looked like it is like PD, which has a max cap (4 above requirement).
