Title: Flamberge and strength
Post by: polearmsteveISBACKFOOLS on September 11, 2011, 01:21:37 pm
Hey guys Im making a flamberge  build and wondering, how many hits would it take to kill someone in a heavy kuyak with 6 ps. and also can you pretty much one shot everything with 30 str and a flam?

never tried flam + 30 str

With 6-8 ps you wont be one hitting any1 with body armour of 40-50 + I think not even head hits (assuming they have a helmet)

2-3 hits is about right i think

Just hide for 2 minutes in every battle, by the time you come to the scene everyone is hurt and you'll oneshot a lot more.

valid and used tactic although if i stay back its usually to wait till there's less ranged being used

I already tried Flamberge once 33 str 11 PS 130 skill on two handed and did not one shot people with 36 armor, maybe it was 43(loomed).

Played flamberge with a 9 ps 27/12 character build last gen.  Holy hell it was fun.  However, you will rarely one-shot a dude in decent armor with sideswing (at full health that is).  The overhead is mean, and you might get a few good one-shots in with that; the stab just feels "eh", and I rarely used it except for throwing off my opponent's rhythm.

That said, anything running around in ZOOM ZOOM (low armor value and weight) armor...

I dont use the stab a lot but it seems quite effective when I do

Maybe I just derped up on them, but it never seemed to be the best killing blow.  As for how effective it is, simply throwing off the rhythm of "swing, swing, swing, swing" seems to be terribly effective in quite a few situations, so, yeah, that stab has its place.

Yeah I never expect the Flamberg stab, I always misjudge the Flambergs length in battle and I'll be stabbed.

My current build:

39/3
13PS

MW Flamberge

Yes I can 1 hit people with the right handed and overhead swing to their head.

Bodyhits also if they are in medium armour, but you gotta get the swing very very sweet.

P.S. Cos it's not a standard flammy you may have to ignore this post

You don't need more than 8PS to oneshot people on a regular basis, if you turn into you swings, hit the head and make sure your opponent is running in your swing too.

But the real power of the flamberge is sneaking up on people to finish them off. As you are slow, when you reach the combat it has already begun and many people don't have all their health. If they have ~40 HP left, you oneshot them fairly often.

You should avoid getting in duels, and concentrate on ganking people, like a pikeman.

On Eu2 Siege I often feel OP when I use the flamberge to take out 5 enemy breaking the other side of my doors down  8-) yep, flammy is perfect weapon for it...

I don't care if it's cowardly though cos for as long as the bug ain't fixed imma exploit.

im just saying  some builds arent as effective as other ones.
either do what phil says with 39 str 13 ps to 1hit people.
or just go 21-18 and 2 hit people
going sometimes like 27-12 means u wil also 2 hits people whick makes it kinda useless compared to 21-18 just saying-

Yes, I exploit is along with every other 2her on siege, and along with all the guys who break the doors on the first round in 5secs to take flag, we're all exploiting, and happy to get some good K:D/quick multi.

When these bugs are fixed i'd be very happy, and i've lobbied on bug reports about them too...so...yeah.

what? did I just wrote pure instead of poor?

Yes, there are many other guys exploiting more or less lame bugs but no, they dont brag on the forums because they do so.

I dunno if that shirt was designed to excuse hitting people through doors in siege.

On another note, tried out the flamberge with 1 wpf in 2h...god damn, it's a slow weapon even with 100 wpf in 2h, but you can trick people into thinking you can actually hit them, and end up hitting them, with enough gratuitous footwork (which stops working when the person stands still and just plain blocks).  Decent weapon even with 7 PS, though.

the most build i try, the most realize that 21/18 is the best one.

About strategys I used to be with the horde ally infantry, and sideswing. Most of the times I can sideswing through my mates bodys without hurting them, because of the enemys position and the spamberge range. I did many TK before I learn this technic but it's kind epic :D

VS decent players: The double feint and the hold sideattack, is the best weapon you have on flamberge (since mi ping it's hell, I barely use overhead, and chamber it's kind of difficult).
VS poor players: use range and spam, they will fall as flys :D

ah yeah i love the "swing through team mate and kill enemy" trick i can still tk if i cant predict a team mates movement tho
feinting hardly works at all now - the "akmar" (overhead feint then sideswing) used to work 90% and now never
chambers work against the average player - swing at them normally, they block and attack and a chamber will get them 40-50% of the time (works on siege more than battle)
the more u chamber the more you can use it, even if they hold attacks (still working on that and it's pretty impossible vs fast weapons)
never chamber overheads with flam vs a fairly fast weapon cos they can feint and swide swing you before your chamber lands

i like 6-7 athletics for footwork and heavy armour - i tried 24-15 last time and i really didnt enjoy 5 athletics
