Title: Bannale offense - hiring on opposite side of neutral fief when your clan attacks
Post by: Keshian on September 09, 2011, 03:40:11 am
3 DRZ including Vovka have signed up for the defense of Curin castle when they ahve a Druzhina army attacking.  Basically a blatant attempt at cheating to win.  Please correct, I know Loki got temp banned for this once when he applied for both sides and he accidentally got hired on neutral side and didnt show up.  This is definitely is not an accident.

Pretty sure that's mainly been DRZ throughout the duration of this war.

We aren't signing up against each other like DRZ. I don't see why you guys (DRZ & Chaos) complain about bugs when you abuse the shit out of them. (Just my opinion)

Wait, has this occured? Was the match specced? Did they actually do anything wrong so far, or is this just speculation? Oh, I see this battle hasn't happened yet and you are drawing premature conclusions. It would probably do you well to reserve judgment until SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS, christ dude.

To my knowledge, simply even signing up against your side is punishable. I know at least one person has been banned from Strat for it.

I believe the reason its not allowed to even apply for the AI side if your clan is attacking is because even if you withdraw your application before the battle it can prevent someone else from being hired.

Wow, that's a lame rule. I don't understand why you can't sign up for a battle if you actually intend to, and do fight, regardless of who it is against, but I guess it's easier to regulate with blanket rules than it is to actually monitor stuff.

STRATEGUS IS IN PRE-ALPHA VERSION. THE ROLE OF PLAYERS IS TO FIND BUGS, FLAWS, EXPLOITS AND WHATNOT, ABUSE THEM AND NOT REPORT TO DEVS.

From reading this subforum from time I time it's like every faction at war is using bugs.

Maybe I should report a bug myself, when I go into a town, select "earn money" and confirm, my gold starts increasing. I hope it's easy to fix because it's really abusable and many people do it.

where did you get that story?

TKoV had 10 tickets and 4 players. defenders were mostly DRZ guys who didnt show, only 1 DRZ did show... and we kept him busy till we capped all spawns then killed him. the town fell with only 1 death. as for the other no-show defenders... i dont remember who was on there... but certainly no friends of ours.

Just for more teeheehees, I'll go ahead and let you know it probly isn't at all difficult to code it to where you can't join a team your faction or you yourself (for clanless) are fighting with rather than enforce bans. Doesn't that fill your heart with warmth and love?

that was different, that was some lljk siding with one group, while another sided with the other side... what this thread was about was having people sign up against their friends with the intention of either not showing up, or otherwise sabotaging the side they signed for, and since it was neutral fiefs they were signing for... the neutral fiefs cant predict when people are trying to fuck them over... so its abusing game mechanics and bannable.

The same clan tag goes a long way towards identifying friends, same as spotting people in the same alliance.

I've always thought you just need to keep your enemies close to watch em?

More specifically, it's because LLJK doesn't really have any rules for signing up in battles that aren't ours. We'll encourage our guys to sign on for people we like, but there's really no consequence if they don't. In the case that was brought up, Goretooth really really wanted to fight for the Hospitallers because he has several actual friends in that clan and he wanted to fight in what promised to be a pretty epic battle.
