...are there armies of 5, 10, 18, etc attacking huge cities of 10k plus?  Something kewl tactic I'm missing?  Or is it a mass hysteria / mad cow disease-type epidemic sweeping across Caladria.

I'd guess they are trying to see can they raid AI villages gold reserves...

I'd assume there are small armies attacking big cities in order to tie up the time slot on that server. Pretty lame for people who actually would like to play, if that's the case. Notice that I'm not naming any factions, because I've seen this done by too many to single any one out.

Good question.

Since everyone else is now doing it, can we safely assume the raids were a success? If so, we're probably going to need second gold/item wipe pretty soon...

we posted the spawn issues in khudan and curaw. as for raiding... the raid didnt work, it reset to default. also shik and espu have confirmed that it was no bug that TKoV took khudan. no defenders showed up, they got the town. My understanding is that the 1/3 rule was changed to either not apply to neutral castles/towns or perhaps to not count population? at any rate, this was a case of only 1 defender showing up, and the attackers taking flags and killing him.

That's hilarious, in a depressing sort of way.

If you really had no benefits from the raids, though, I can't help wondering why so many other main factions are now launching their own. They can hardly expect to get as lucky as TKoV did, can they?

they are hoping that they will. but id be amazed if it happens again.. people will take defense serious now.

Well GG. I think it's totally asinine that an army of TEN THOUSAND strong is represented by 12 people because the attacking army is 8. Anyone who honestly thinks that this should be possible in the first place, man... Game breaking.

There's a way to fix this.  Although I'm not sure how hard it would be to code.

If the spawn rates were limited to the ratio of the actual troop numbers.  For example:  Wtf_Pwnzors army of 500 vs. OmfgRoflStomp's army of 1000.  The spawns would be limited to a 1:2 ratio no matter how many people sign up to fight for either side.
