Just a thought to maybe help balance....make those longer "spear" weapons breakable. As in you chamber them there is a 50% chance they break. Sort of a compromise of realism and game balance.
or maybe make all weapons have health bars, after you block so many times they break.
Random suggestion, so present thy random thoughts!

not going to happen. however I would like the idea of picking them up off the ground to break them, so others can use them. snap it over your knee or step on it with your foot. the higher your strength the faster you can do it, gear must be holstered when you do it
-
^Heh, then we will see tons of folks with their weapons holstered kicking at the air.
-
There are plenty of mods with a lance breaking mechanic based on a damage threshold, dunno if it can be applied to your suggestion.
-
Try and manual block/chamber my great lance and see what happens :D
My memory is a little hazy, but I remember someone actually did chamber my couch lance with his great sword, even heard the *clang* as we collided. (Not entirely sure)
-
Nope, cant chamber couches.

a practise staff can block any amount of hits of a flamberg ...
but a steel shield ... which is specialy made for blocking ... breaks after some hits ...
+1 for breakable wooden weapons
+1 for breakable weapons depending on their size, the longer they are the easier they break

should it just be wooden weapons? why wouldn't all weapons be breakable? and do we really want to go into a situation where they make it so our weapons can break on us and thus a never ending wave of tears from so many Q_Q's blaming there weapons breaking and totally ignoring the fact it was probably there fault they lost anyways???????

well every weapon would be ok, there is enough stuff on the ground mostly anyways
-
true but if i weapon breaks it would be in combat where most builds would not be able to outrun there enemy
i do like the idea but idk what effect it would have on the troll/QQ population....who knows.....it could be the ammunition they need to start an uprising
-
Well, I wouldn't be for nerfing cav again, but what about incorporating this into the break/repair system we have...? If your weapon breaks on the field, you pay to have it repaired?

like you could repair it within the game? that would be ok, you get like with the healing tent a bar, which when after some seconds is up, the weapon would be repaired. You would need to stand still for it and pay gold.

this is so familiar its strange. i think somebody was QQ about repairs saying if it didnt get used/hit he shouldnt have ot repair it and somebody countered that having repairs based on battle instead of it being a percentage of the time would change the way people would play i a negitive way.i remember there was a french saying but id know id spell it wrong so i didnt write it lol
