Basically, hitting someone with your horse will stun you for a short time interrupting the attack. This means bumpslashing/lancing is removed, meaning shielders with their shields up only take bumpdmg.
Maybe to balance it increase charge dmg a bit?
-
+1 to this
I'd also say that if your horse takes more than a certain amount of damage you should have any chambered attacks disrupted.
-
+1, one of the best suggestions. I realize 1h/cav is hard to master, but fuck those undefendable bumpslashes. To compensate, increase charge dmg.
-
Two cav nerf threads posted at the same time eh?
-
No.
You'd have to increase charge damage hugely to make up for it.
-
We should change the charge damage to a realistic level and make them one-shot-kill any unarmoured person if the horse hits them at full speed, and make it a one-shot-kill for the heavy armoured horses regardless of whatever they hit.
Yeah!
-
No. Poor 1H cav...

This would make it impossible for 1h and morningstar cav, as a slight sidemovement by the target would mean you hit him with your horse and be unable to swing at him.
It is easy to avoid being bumpslashed, provided that you have athletics/light armor so you can move a bit(and that you know the horse is coming).
-
Cav must die.
I never thought that I'll hate any other class with such passion as I used to hate archery.
-
Make charge dmg Blunt instead of Cut, then we can start discussing.. (?)
-
Go ride your pony NA nub and leave EU pros to discuss serious stuff :D

Says the community that has a bunch of people who think dueling Long Spears is harder then normal weapons?

I don't really see why this is a nerf. Its not as if the OP asked that you or your horse gets damaged and if you want to work round it, then pair up with another Cav and one of you bump whilst the other kills.
-
no, but the fact that bumping someone with your horse would stun you is just ridiculous, doesn't make any sense, maybe if been bumped by a horse knocked you down at a faster speed, you would hit the ground before the rider had chance to swing and kill you...
-
Let me be clear:
I hate bump-slashing, but I want it to stay.
I personally would rather see cavalry behaving more like real-life cavalry, than this dancing around until they can poke you in the back with a long stick. They should not be afraid to charge infantry, lest they have a polearm and know how to use it.
-
How bout when a 1-ton horse hits you, you fall over and never get up...and die a slow painful death. Your character begins moaning, groaning and perhaps crying out in pain asking to be finished off.
stop posting stupid suggestions. its pretty clear you have a beef with cav and are crying about it all over the forums. if you were a better player you could easily deal with it, but you arent.

Charge dmg has always been blunt..

Forgive my unenlightened self.

Its ok Tears, its ok... that thing is just a troll, it is to be ignored.
-
Ah yes lets take the one thing that makes 1hander cav in some way superior to lance cav away (yes I know you can bumpstab with a lance but it is pretty hard to do)

This is crpg, there is always something to hate.

Totally agree.
Nerf maneuverability, buff speed HP and charge damage. I feel like I'm fighting mountain goats at times. They are everywhere.

While I wasn't for the nerf at the start, reading your last statement/idea to increase the charge damage in order to balance it out, I'd say I'm for it. Thank you for being one of those individuals who do not say "NERF!1@" only, not coming up with a suggestion to balance out the nerf with some sort of buff.
Overall, as a cavalryman 90% of the time, and for over 1 year in cRPG alone as cavalry, I support this.
-
Without bumpslash, you are better entirely removing 1h cav. 1h cav is so shitty it won't change things much anyway.
If you don't buff charge damage to inflict just as much damage as a bumpslash (killing in one hit 75% of players), then it's nerfing something that doesn't need it.
Anyway, skilled people with nearly ANY weapon can kill 1h cav. A good thrust/right swing will kill the horse before the rider can do anything, and you get one or two free hits. It's plainly their fault if shielders prefer to turtle up against 1h cav.
And please, stop nerfing horse maneuver. Or maybe start nerfing human maneuver down to realistic levels as well. Every inf/ranged and their grandmother can loljump and dodge a cav charging them with the maneuver we have now.
