Seems like weapons are changing pretty often. How about allowing heirloom resets for a large cash fee. Maybe 100k to reset your heirlooms so you can pick new ones. In case anyone heirloomed a piece of garbage that nobody wants to trade for.
-
Well... it's your crazy ancestors fault for heirlooming that Khergit Lady Dress. How can anyone pay gold to make his family not touched in the head? its too late for medication for them anyway. He just loved the colour on that one. It matched his eyes.

I'd be in favor of heirloom respecs but I'm not quite yet sure on what grounds. Maybe each time you retire with bonus you can also change one of your heirlooms.

No I need to keep this amazingly crapytastic masterwork katana as a mark of shame for daring to heirloom what once was a reasonable weapon and now is a expensive short version of a n00b bastard sword without a reasonable thrust attack at 3 times the cost yay wtf would I ever use this piece of crap lol
-
Any time that weapons baseline stats are changed, a free reset should be available. Both sides are happy then. It doesn't jive with passing down weapons, but to hell with that.

Yeah, i think that would be the best solution. If an item's stats are changed, all modifiers should be removed and returned as heirloom chances.

Official word on this topic?

I agree with this suggestion for also another reason: easier game balancing. Right now if developers want to balance an overpowered item, you can bet the lobby will be there since people invested multiple heirlooms into it.
-
I'm all for it.
Changing in item should mean everyone who had heirloomed it get's to redo their heirlooms.
