With this new retreat option, unarmed armies can now get away immediately and save most of their troops.
That is why there should be a timer for the retreat function so no longer can unprepared small armies just get away scott free

If you retreat, you should have to fight one of those small 5v5 battles with no respawns, like the ones from single player when you siege a castle. If you win then you don't lose as much equipment/troops. If you lose then you lose it all.
Also, what ManOfWar said. I support him fully.

retreating should reduce # of tickets remaining by half...at least
I'd prefer some sort of system route system where attackers get to butcher half the remaining troops

this is why strat needs to be an MMO

The sWalker agrees...you should never allow yourself to retreat...but even for the cowards that do...the sWalker would run them down and shoot them for at least 20 minutes.

Also with the new feature of armes auto retreating, I feel that for every kill the attacking team makes the auto retreat timer should get increased by say 10-20 seconds because right now it's kinda stupid that alot of the time you cannot use all your tickets when attacking a fief/castle before retreating even if you are fighting.

Why not make the Retreat an option based upon army size?
Say you got 1k tickets, you gotta wait say...10 minutes before you have the option.
