Title: Level Five(5) riding options
Post by: Daniel on August 23, 2011, 07:58:25 pm
Out of the four horses that require five(5) riding skill, which is the:

Best bang for your buck (upkeep)
Combination of speed, armour, HP, and maneuver
Most practical

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

In my opinion it's the large warhorse. It has alright speed, good maneuver, great armour and alot of health. Also to top it all off it is very cheap for an armoured horse.

With only 5 riding you will be really slow with war horse. I would definately use a destrier. Would help a lot if you would tell what kind of build you are using.

i may be spoiled with a champ destrier, but I would say easily destrier.  you lose too much speed/maneuver with large warhorse and dont gain enough armor/hp/charge.  About 1/4 of my kills on horseback are destrier charge kills, you can get up to speed quickly

For Unheirloomed horses its the Destrier no question.

Like others stated, destrier is the ideal horse to ride, but I still choose large warhorse due to the awesome chainmail overcoat that covers the entire body of the horse.

I bought a charger and i had a destrier before, for the moment i would say destrier allows more versatility and i prefer charger for close combat style.

With my destrier i was with polearm and speed / man was ok for it, when i passed to the charger it was a disaster with polearms!!!! i really didn't think there was such a difference, but there is lol.

I changed to morningstar and charger and i have a lot of fun, BUT I AVOID ennemy cav at all cost now lol

charger is nice if you have teammates that are smart enough to let you help bump & knockdown enemies.

Jeez everyone is taking Destrier these days. And out of the higher tier horses the one which is the most common is Cata.

Stand out from the masses and take ehm....CHARGER! Or...yeah CHARGER!!!

I like the large warhose for it only being slightly slower then a rouncey but being considerably more protected and just as maneuverable

Imo, overally best horse is destrier, you will be able to sustain more arrows then courser, and with the recent courser speed nerf, you wont feel disadvantaged over the courser users. Now, as for armoured horses, those lvl 5 arent worth the money, best of them is warhorse, but even he is not worth. Best armoured horse is mamluk horse, good enough speed, for the great ammount of armour it gets.

it depends on if you lance or not, and whats your style with lancing. i mostly aim for my enemy lancers and leave the archers inf untill the enemy lancers are killed, for that i would reccomend arab warhorse, but if i go aim for inf and archers i chose destrier, and if there archers alone i chose cata.

The destrier is OP. Very cheap considering the stats.
It should cost 35k imo.
