As an archer I find it somewhat odd that when I fire an arrow at a 80 degree angle it goes flying off about a mile or two away. I really liked the adjustment they did to throwing and think bows should do something similar so that indirect fire is a possibility. This could potentially be used well in strategus battles too.(Rain down arrows on a catapult crew while safely behind your walls, with a shielded spotter up top to help with aim adjustments.)

Or just add a bow with increased damage but this low range.
Otherwise Horse archers for example will become completely useless...
Btw your poll is senseless

I actually did some tests of this yesterday.
The Map: The street map with the barracades of baskets, wagons. Its just a single street with a sewer that can also be traveled through.
The Bow: Khergit
The Arrows: Regular Arrows
Technique: Positioned myself at the very end of the street, shot all arrows as straight up as possible, pointed towards the other end of the street.
The result: Arrows landed in a 30 foot radius roughly 75 meters away from the other end of the street. Arrows traveled roughly a distance of 300 meters.
My thoughts: Arrow travel seems to be just fine to me.

Ruins distance please.

I already arc my arrows to hit enemies behind objects (like teammates). On a bridge map, you can easily arc an arrow from one ramp, over the bridge and down to hit someone you can't even see on the other side of the bridge ramp.
In other words, already in game. If you want a more pronounced arc, then you need to use a weaker bow.

Part 1: Good Point
Part 2: They always are

This is realistic arrow arc considering that you can only fire from full draw. I dont think it should be changed.

I think I would be good if like in Native, bows were good at lower range than xbows.
But for that to be balanced, xbows should require a skill investment, but they still don't.
-
I don't think I've actually tested firing a arrow strait up since the patch. So they did reduce the range from native?

While I can see the point about indirect fire on catapults, I don't get why you are willing to waste arrows (esp. now after the amount you get was nerfed) by indirect fire during normal play.
Of course, the 1-in-a-thousand headshots across the map are great, but, mostly you just miss, don't you?.

Actually if you increase the firering arc above 45° the range will decrease again (you reach max. range at 45°). With an arc of 80°, you are nearly shooting straight up you know.
-
Actually you irl you get maximum range from 42 degrees  300m from 80 degrees isnt realistic I think.

Because they're quite cheap in strategus, it's not hard to buy more than enough.
