How about showing horse kills on the score board in the following format.
Lets say you have 12 normal kills and 3 horse kills , then it would read thus 12.3.
That's all thnx.

Who cares how many horses one kills?

it would only lead to people getting horse-kill eager, and that's not cool nor realistic. fail idea.

Man, the title of this post made me think of something else entirely. In the Native module, rogue (riderless) horses would at least sometimes kill somebody, and the death text would read, "Sumpter Horse (deathbump.jpg) Malaclypse". I have never once seen this happen in cRPG, and it makes me sad.

I've seen it happen a few times. Not that rare even.

Well, I kinda like that.
Sometimes you kill 5 Enemy horses with your Spear, but no Enemy, nonetheless you helped your team with it a lot so you should somehow be able to be noticed for it.
Anyway, dont think it will ever happen(If its even possible).

I have killed someone with my horse after I died. The text read, "Courser (deathbump.jpg) player name". So it is possible

You are Fallen and ask that? Go spank yourself :P

My only goal in life is to kill your horse. I do it without a scoreboard. Glad to know how much it hurts you when I do it though

Bring a cataphract and it will happen quite often.
I'd love to see a line showing those epic horse revenge kills in the scoreboard.
A good pikeman kills horses then kills the rider. A pro pikeman kills the rider and leaves the horse unscathed for his teammates to use it. And a typical noob kills stray horses because they are likely the only thing he is capable of killing.

You forgot the "average" pikeman. Those tend to kill more friendly cav than enemy.

This can actually happen, I've seen it a few times.
