Title: Distribution of points
Post by: Torp on August 22, 2011, 07:25:44 am
I am about to hit lvl 33, but i don't really know what i want to spend the coming stat points on.

My current build is this:
Level 32 (17 784 806 xp)

Strength: 21
Agility: 18
Hit points: 56
Skills to attributes: 4
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 7
Shield: 4
Athletics: 6
Riding: 6
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 6
One Handed: 61
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 150
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1

I am a polearm cav using a shield and with a 1h as sidearm for when my horse gets killed. I also do 1h cav once in a while. The wpf is going in 1h, and im gonig to convert my attribute to skill points, which gives me a total of 3 skill points.
I have two different things i can do with those:

1. Put them in shield
This will give me a bigger forcefield, allow me to use steel shield, increase my block/attack speed, icnrease my shield hp and/or resistance.

2. Put them in IF
This will simply give me 4 extra hit points

3 IF is 6 hit points.

Tbh 5 shield skill is way enough, so I would go either with:

1 shield 2 IF or 3 IF.

3 IF is 6 hit points.

1 shield 2 IF or 3 IF.

6 shields open up for steel shield, and im either going all the way or nothing.

and i will put 1 point in IF no matter what, so it's 4 hp difference

Why steel shield? It's goddamn expensive and slow as shit.

Yup, steel shield only has specific uses imo.

I'd go with +3 IF for higher survivability.

I can guarantee you, if he were alive, Gnjus would tell you to put 2 points in shield.

But since you're cav, you shouldn't be taking a lot of hits. Also, if you want to take a lot of hits just take one of the board shields (high HP). Tbh any shield can take a lot of hits (I used elite cavalry) if it's not getting hacked at with an axe. If it is, it's going to die fast no matter which shield you use.

OR, respec back to lvl 32 and go for 21/21.    No?
Then I'd say got for the IF

2 shield points because it allows you to use the steel shield force and will greatly improve the effectiveness of your usual cavalry shield.

At this point, it is much more important than 4 HP.

And you can even try steel shield on horse. Especially on a tank, this is really usefull.

3 HA and get a crossbow 8-)

No, seriously, 2 shield and 1 IF is better than 3 IF.
