Title: Theme battle - Ogre hunt

Hello once again people, I think it's time for a small but hopefully fun theme battle. Since strategus is down, we have to do this differently this time. I will probably hold this in the Fallen Roleplay server, so you'll get no XP or gold, but no upkeep either.

The theme will be "Ogre hunt", where village farmers hunt and kill a few ogres ravaging their lands. Or maybe the ogres will drive the peasants off...

Since strategus is down, we have to do this differently. You can sign up to this battle here. I want about 1-6 ratio in favour of the peasants on this one. When I get enough participants, I'll announce a date and time, perhaps tuesday the 25th at 20 GMT? Picking ogre equipment is forbidded for peasants.

EDIT: The battle will be on a server called Fallen_Roleplay (64 players max) on 20 GMT tuesday 25th. Even if you are not on the list, you can still join the peasant side if you have the suitable equipment. I'll post the password in this thread 15 min before the battle starts.

btw you should make it a no blocking battle... ogres dont have the speed and peasants dont have the skills to do this.

I suggest using the Forest Lair map, looks like a place where ogres live.

i'd say a siege map or village map where the castle or village is invaded by ogres

I can be ogre with black coat of plates and i will buy something that isnt as great as my bar mace. Also, no manuel blocking whatsoever like the person above me said.

Sorry, but black coat of plates has too little armor.

wow +50 body armor a +50 head armor black helmet and a +35 leg armor black greaves, are not enough, wow. Ok, i can be peasent, ile buy a torch pitchfork, some hat, some shirt, (peasents alowed to throw rocks right?)

romans all in the same medium tier armor (still plates) and with a board shield and 1 h sword (also the same)

babarians naked with big ass axes and swords

Every ogre should be required to use the Long Spiked Club as it is absolutely the most ogre'ish of weapons. If you don't have it just buy it.

Get the forks, sickles, stones, clubs, knifes, hatchets and at last the TORCHES! A burned ogre is an proper OGRE!!!". Every single peasant steams to the streets and they start becoming a big lynch ready mob.... just aching to start the hunt.

I have a full set of plate armour, gothic plate. I love running around with mauls killing peasants, I've been doing that for 5 months now:D!

I want ogres to RP an ogre the best you can.

If you were an ogre, what would you do when you encounter a peasant? Would you spin gracefully around him and cut millimetre thin slices of him with your impressive swordmanship skills, or just go "ME ANGRY, ME HUURRRG!" and bash his skull so hard it shoots out of the poor fellas arse.

Why arent peasants allowed hunting bows? When hunting ogres, I ALWAYS have my hunting bow. only 1 stack of basic arrows, but I think this wouldnt slow the ogres down too much? Also, ogres use 2h Cleaver, as well as clubs, this is well know to us pro ogre hunting peons.

PS. I would liike to be a peasant, but what char I use will depend on whether hunting bow is allowed, so can you just add "Grey" to villagers? Or if needed I can be ogre too, I have almost every item in the game so gear is no problem.....

Remember guys, don't be a cheating peasant, follow the guidelines in the first post about what a peasant can use, don't try and use any arrow better than the cheapest for example, because people will notice and you will be burned at the stake for witchcraft.  :lol:

List updated. Here's some info:

Gametype is deathmatch, so it's basicly everyone agaisnt everyone. So you can kill your fellow peasants or ogres, but be advised, your "team" will beat the crap out of you for doing it. If someone still wants to join, they automaticly go to the peasant side.

Before someone complains about "baww deathmatch", I want this to be chaotic. You don't see any banners, and you can kill teammates as easily as enemies. Only thing that can save people is sticking together.

And last thing. People using wrong type of equipment are outcasts and heretics. Both ogres & peasants hate them, and they should be killed on sight.

I will post the PW 5 mins before the battle, and when you join, the event is on!

The event is over now, it was great fun (I enjoyed it both as a peasant and as an ogre). We got about 40 minutes of good slaying. I hope you people enjoyed it too!

Maybe for next time it could be a bit more organized with all peasants in group attacking ogre lair, or some other theme.

I think it would be interesting to recreate the battle of Agincourt, team deathmatch archers vs plate. No shields but archers must defend a position and are not allowed to run outside the perimeter. Also no siege equipment.

How about.. arena tournaments? Practice weapons, fixed teams, colours? Would be cool.
