No.  Unless it goes back to the old system.  Under the current system it'd be leeching paradise.  Hell I'd even leave my toons in there overnight while I slept in order to get the freebie xp, even if it was reduced.

I dont know if its possible to have old system on duel and new on the rest.
But there shouldnt be any gold cause there shouldnt be upkeep on duel.

Yes please, i only went archer because they removed this, and as 2h its no fun getting triple teamed (or triple teaming another hapless person) I just like one on one fights while levelling my char.

Wut? That's the most fun thing as a 2h, fighting multiple enemies.

To each his own, Xant. Regardless, dueling has always granted a bit of xp, as far as I know, and I don't think that should change in this patch. Perhaps they could simply do the following:

1. Write a script that gives a tick of 1x/2x XP to everyone on the duel server every minute, after checking to see if your character has the "dueled" flag.
2. If you have the flag, you get xp and the script removes the flag.
3. If you don't have the flag, you get no XP tick.
4. Dueling adds the "dueled" flag to your character.

OR

Just return the old XP system for duels. You kill someone? You get a bit of gold and xp.

Duels should give XP per kill depending on the opponents level, like before the patch. You should get only XP, not gold, because there is no upkeep for duels.

Dont use old system.

Give only XP for each kill but dont give gold. => No Upkeep => No Gold => only XP

I've got a solution...

Just give the regular 1000xp, 50 gold per minute, as long as you've won a duel in the last minute or two.  That way you can't simply go AFK for it, and it's never going to be more profitable than the main servers.

I just can't think of a way that multipliers could be implemented to the duel server without obvious ways to abuse the system.

Auto-hotkey script to walk around spamming LMB and pressing F every second.  Get a buddy to join the duel server when he goes to bed as well and voila.  Not super efficient but it'd work.  And hell we're gamers.  We'll find a way to exploit anything.  Look at how we broke DarkFail with our macro'ing awesomeness in order to afk-grind while sleeping/working.

to spice it up, the gold the winner one gets, is taken from the guy he killed. and no 2x etc.

With the old gold system, you'd need 5 kills of a level 25-29 every minute to match x1.

Seems reasonable to me.

There's something fishy going on with the eu3 duel server. Just now I was playing on it for a bit and noticed I was getting xp and gold. I went to switch chars and just as I rejoined I got xp and the map ended. I managed to snap a screenshot of that. And then the new map, no xp or gold again..Oh and I verified it on my character page, went from  3288631 to 3302631 xp.

Anyway, screenie:

It's nothing strange. Currently, the duel server gives you 1 tick of XP after you join, then it stops.

I've had ticks at other times as wel. I'll screenshot it next time. Also note the xp, that isn't one tick. I noted down the xp when I first noticed I was getting it and when I left the server to switch chars.

Nope, it's definitely strange, sometime EU3 gives xp/gold, usually it doesn't.

Duel only friends that comes to let themselves die at your hands and you have un unstoppable grind machine (easily spottable in the long run ofc but even then..).

If it was anything like it was before it would take you way longer to make XP dueling than just going to battle or siege. xD
but okay then , I'd enjoy watching 2 people waste their time so that one person can level though I doubt anyone would do this because.. well for the reason I already stated, not enough xp to be made this way, it'd be faster to go to Battles or Siege.

all in all, I say YES to some xp on duel servers, I don't see a problem with getting a small reward each time you win, I HIGHLY doubt that this could be abooooooooooooooozed simply because you wouldn't make enough xp for it to be worth the time to abuse.

If the system were implemented correctly, this would not be any more effective than simply playing on the battle server. I tested this with a clanmate who was of the same opinion as you, and if someone were to "exploit" this way, they could get about 3 kills per minute on the duel server. If the duel server gave you 1 "tick" of XP per kill, it would be the equivalent to a x3 modifier for ONE of the two people required. Since two people are required to do this, that averages to a 1.5x modifier if you're exploiting, which is hardly worth it. You'd be better off to go on a battle/siege server and just switch your banner to whoever has good people on at the time.
