Should there be a threshold of troop sizes that must be involved to schedule a battle?
The battle page is littered with battles like 50 vs 1 or 30 vs 0 and even less...
This has to be a strategic move to do one or both of the following:
1 - tie up that player so they cannot transfer?
2 - "bump" battle times of other battles into a later slot?
Either way im not sure how I feel about these battles....anyone else think these are weird?
* I would personally propose that there be a limit of attacking AND defending troops...maybe 50+ vs 50+ or 100+ vs 100+ for a battle to be scheduled?
Looking for thoughts on this, cause there might be things im missing, but currently seems silly to me.

It is pretty good as is. You cannot attack someone unless you have 1/3 their troop size. As for defending... well yes the idea is to stop people from running gold around and moving to various places and so on. If you cant attack small squads then they could run gear and gold all over with impunity... that would be bad.

Unfortunately you actually can attack with 1/3 or less, and it logs it in the Strat battle list and wastes a time slot, you just auto lose once you do so. At least one clan found this out the hard way. I wish it would auto-calc instantly or just refuse point-blank.

actually it doesnt. there was an instance during our last war where someone attacked TKoV with less than 1/3, they lost all their troops, all their gear... and there was no battle listed.

Strange, I guess I was not remembering that old Pecores incident correctly.

Tears, maybe you're thinking of when an attack was initiated with more than 1/3 troops, but the defenders then reinforced such that defense outnumbered offense by more than 3 to 1. In this case, there is a time slot scheduled, but there is still no autocalc, you actually play out the battle.
I don't think the no troop minimum is a problem. It might be, if dozens of tiny battles are clogging up the servers, but that's not really an issue yet. I actually wish there were more to be gained from small battles, since at the moment, strategus is extremely heavily inclined toward factions, and there is very little room for individuals, or small groups, to even RP banditry or something.

Ooooh that is most likely it then!

Hmm....good points all over....
Matey, i wonder should the amount of goods an army can transport be related to its size in that case?

pain in the ass.

yeah i suppose you're right...
anyhow still seems like so many slots on the battle list are full of these .....maybe battles? maybe not battles? kind things.

1 - tie up that player so they cannot transfer?
2 - "bump" battle times of other battles into a later slot?
3 - Teleport that player to a different place on the map so they can't cause various kinds of havoc near you.
If you weren't allowed to attack 0 troop armies, there would be no way to keep them out of your territory.

The problem is (example of TS and Fallen), TS were using all these 0 troop players to block up the cities and fiefs of Fallen so they couldn't grind gold and troops so easily and unless someone is on 24/7 booting them out, they reduce the rates. So Fallen ect are having to make attacks on these 0 troop people to get rid of them.
That's why there are so many of these at the moment.
Maybe if a player has 0 troops and gets attacked or attacks then they should be teleported instantly rather than taking a time slot. Would make more sense.
