Title: Banners!
Post by: RomoR on January 20, 2011, 07:54:51 pm
Let me make a suggestion that can add a little bit of strategy or even just ambient to CRPG; Banners

A simple Banner that one can buy in the shop that when carried gives all friendly around a specified radius a boost in some stat, like +1 AGI or Power strike, to simulate a moral bonus! maybe even a small increase in all WPF by 10 or so points, these banners could be Heraldic or themed.

This would give the clans a Banner Carrier or just act as a battlefield attention point and an incentive for team-play because you would get a little boost in one or more of your stats, This of course if it possible coding wise to implement area bonuses if not you could at least use the banner as maybe a healing point.

Sounds great! Especially to make it a team battle :)

They already have this in part with the battalion system. All they would need to do is add the bonus to the corresponding flag and battalion when near the banner.

cant be done hardcoded

the banners that are used now placed on the guys arm dont look very attractive.

i would love to see banners on pikes and lances maybe we will get that one day

slightly off-topic, but what is this very light thing that burns my eyes? it looks like some sort of a heart in a shitty color.

cant be done hardcoded

So chadz codes it into the game that people who raise shields side by side get +1 shield skill up to 6 but this is hardcoded? Are you sure.
On another point, no thanks for the idea.

I dunno if its hardcoded... I'm no expert, but nothing I've heard or seen would lead me to believe its hardcoded. Could be fun.
