Title: Swords as pole arms?

How are these meant to be used? Which one should I get?

Well, they are, for the biggest part, shit.

The only advantage is the higher thrust damage, which is not worth the reduced length imo.

to have a pole sword: buy a sword with secondary mode (2h sword) then press x

only use (for me) : stop a horse

for anything else...  let's forget the x button and play with your sword as a sword!

You will have better luck fighting against cavalry with the normal 2hander thrust because of it's insane reach, when you use secondary mode the sword becomes so short than you shouldn't be getting any cav with it.
