Okay, night and weather and stuff wont be removed, so what about allow the attackers to decide when and under what circumstances they attack?
Atm the defender can choose the server, what makes sense. Its his own ground, so his choice.
Weather and stuff is totally random.
In real life the attackers could chose when they attacked. So they attacked under circumstances that fit best their plan, comparing their advantages and disadvantages in troops with the enemys.
In the total war games its the same.
And it makes sense.
Ninjas for example would probably like to attack in the darkest night, armies with good archers would prefer daylight.
Not sure if rain and stuff has an influence on crossbows like it was in the original Mount and Blade,
but in any case this option would make the game a bit more commander-general-skill-based, a bit more Strategos of a general needed, and less luck.

sounds good to me, but then im a ninja :D

Why not just disable weather for strategus to make things balanced?
-
I don't think they should choose weather, i feel they should just have option between available time of day or night linked directly with weather (it should look like
1.00 clear accept/reject ( if reject next hour show up, and this goes until 24, then attack is delayed if rejected and this army cannot attack next 24h).
-
So no more Rain right than if i am attacker i will Take the best Weather to Fight my war or Fog so i can sneak into the Base!I like the Weather System like it is so i have different locations in different outfits!
-
Yes but you could do it like total war with regards to weather. Have a "wait" option which changes the weather randomly which is limited to 4 uses?
-
Good idea. Or you could have Calradia's first Met. Office, so the predicted weather for the next 8 or so hours is shown, which would lead to a nice race to get the best weather for a battle.
-
it would be nice touch if there could be some arrows set on fire. although the rate of those arrows should be very very VERY slow.
hmm.... you have to have a slot for stand with fire which would be deployed, then you have to use it to set an arrow on fire, and after releasing arrow, you have to use fire again to set it on fire. setting arrow afire could last for cca 7 secs. i am genius bwahwahwahwah

why not just make a forecast, and a time of day, then people could coordinate their attacks to the conditions they want? It could be area specific too, so it's rainier by the ocean, snowy in the mountains, etc.

I agree with this. The attackers can choose when to attack but they can't forecast the weather accurately.
-
I like this idea but i think i have a better one. Add a little weather icon to the strategus map that indicates the upcoming forecast, as well as day/night and time until change. This way attackers can try to wait for the perfect moment but waiting too long might get them caught be a lockdown force.

+1
Attackers choose. Defenders defend.

Abusable. There'd be no reason to NOT choose heavy fog, rain whenever attacking a castle or town. Knowing what kind of weather there is going to be during the attack would be usefull, if not very realistic, but straight out choosing which kind is just borked.

Weird, I coulda sworn there was a Suggestions forum.

I can imagine worse scenario. Attackers attack. Then it rains. Oh ooops we're screwed, we brought more xbowmen than the enemy.
Either rain needs to be removed, or let attackers choose weather. I'm ok either way.
