So i want to be a balanced 2h cause i dont want to be slow and all power but i dont want to hit like a little girl scout lol. What the best 2h for a balanced build? (current weapon is sword of war)
-
Hard to say what sword is good for balanced, I'd say just any sword is good, you're fast enough to take any of the shorter, faster swords but you could also use a longer, slower sword. Just pick what you like the most :)
-
Sword of war is fine for any build.
-
no such thing as "best 2h".
longsword/Miaodao for 1v1 duels
Greatswords for battle
Great Maul, Morningstar, Barmace for Goretooths
Persian War Axe for the lulz
-
Goedendag.
-
Maul.
-
Shortened Military Scythe.

Cudgel

Persian War Axe for all occasions

Foolish Casimir, you do know because of the cut in damage the morningstar will always deal more damage and be more consistent?
I'd say German Greatsword hands down on foot.

WTH? GreatSword is way better IMO. You trade -1 cut damage and -3 length for +1 speed and 3k cost.

Thats 1 cut damage and 3 length too much.
Idc about costs.
-
Longsword / Heavy bastard sword - Their speed really puts them in a class by themselves.
All the big 2h swords are pretty well balanced (as in you can make arguments for most of them) but I would take the Sword of War due to its weight relative to the other greatswords.
Morningstar/axes are fun to use and mix in but I always felt they were to limiting (unbalanced) to be a main weapon.

I really like the MW longsword...it becomes a 99 speed (used to be 100 speed before nerf) weapon with dmg similar to a stock sword of war.
Its shorter though, definitely have to use footwork & manual block a good bit to make it effective.
Sometimes the short length can be a challenge, but honestly with 6PS+ and a MW longsword you can deliver pretty lethal blows against all but high armor/strength builds...and like mentioned - the speed is incredible (faster than all but katana which hits like featherduster)
For background, I use 18 str 21 agi build...with 6 PS, 7 Athletics (footwork), 7 WP (164 2hnded skill), and then a couple in ironflesh when using the MW longsword.
The short length has one benefit - less likely to get stuck on things when fighting in tight areas or around lots of people. If you are good with attacks and pretty good at parrying, you can do well with this weapon...

Which means if you're both positioned perfectly, the germandude hits and you don't. And it means that if he thrusts, you have to be defensive. Or even if he just holds his thrust.

Yeah, but it's like trying to beat someone to death with a pool noodle. I had to switch to a STR build and start looming my HBS to do any real killing.

30/12 king of all 2H builds. Pro tip: use longsword and don't chase ranged my old friends.
It's obtaintable at lvl 30. If you go 3 more lvls (40mil XP - 4 gens) you'll have 30/15 all maxed cept IF.
Of course no IF in either case but you have 65 HP which is pretty good. 85 would be a huge difference but you'll be a lot slower (slow swings not movement).

Practice Longsword.
-
Longsword is one of the best swords for duels and you can use it as a 1H on horse as well.
I suggest this build (level 35 2H/cav):
21/21 70hp
7 if
7 ps
7 at
4 ri
7 wm
~169 2H wpf

Sadly, Longsword is shit on horse :(
Morningstar is the only viable option cause of it's damage.
Longsword is good for crowds as well, it's not short as it seems. Also you don't need that much agi, yeah you're gonna swing faster but believe me, with my current 3 ath I'm moving fast enough. I had 8 ath last gen and difference isn't that big. Athletics got burned to the ground.
High agi won't help you with duels, it's all about those things I suck at, feinting, chambering, kickslashing. With 172 WPF and 24 agi I couldn't out spam ANYONE on the battlefield.

Longsword is awesome!
-
Flamberge
-
I like the Highland Claymore alot. It's not the fastest or best at anything really, but I love the looks and the feel of it.
FREEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOM
-
I prefer the claymore over any other on my 2h alt.
-
there is my suggestion (feel free to pick what you want tough, it is just a suggestion)
goedendag
flamberge
those are the two name you need for 2h.

i have the exact same build this time round
My personal favourite is the flamberge simply because of the reach. Its got a bit more damage than the greatswords but notg so much to be a big bonus any more.
Reach is important for catching cav who ride past you, for swinging theough team mates to kill an enemy and all sorts of things.
