All the armored horses have essentially the same speed / maneuverability ratio. See on this chart (https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au-iZerx_eEYdDZaS0ZwWlpKVy1fZ1U3YThYYVEyekE&hl=en_US#gid=2) how the lower difficulty horses have varied speed and maneuverability, but from the destrier on up it is not varied at all. Speed is always a point or two less than turning ability and that's it. A very boring progression.
I'd rather see armored versions of the courser and arabian. Like so:
Charger
hit points: 120
body armor: 45
difficulty: 5
speed: 44
maneuver: 37
charge: 38
Cataphract Horse
hit points: 120
body armor: 40
difficulty: 5
speed: 37
maneuver: 46
charge: 34
Also, there is no reason to have 4 horses at difficulty 3. I suggest taking the Steppe Horse (which no one uses anyway) down to difficulty 2, and the Sumpter to difficulty 1, each with appropriate nerfed stats. Then having 1 point in riding will not be entirely pointless.

+1 For the chart

I would just love to see a lower-tier heavier horse. Something between the rouncy and the destrier. For 1h and 2h cav there just isn't really a choice at lower tiers.

Nice chart :D
I'd agree on this.

I used to have a Heavy Rouncey and she was great. But then horse heirlooms were rebalanced a few patches ago. There isn't a lot of space for a whole new tank-class horse between the rouncey and the destrier. I'd rather see the rouncey with 4 more armor points and cost a bit more gold. That would also open up space for changing the steppe horse in to a difficulty 2 horse.
I guess this thread should have gone in the game balance forum.
