Title: Shield body armor
Post by: Nyalan on August 08, 2011, 11:11:22 pm
Does the body armor on the shield stats mean the armor of the shield when it gets a hit, or the armor bonus to the total body armor of the player when wearing the shield? I know it must probably be the shield's but just to be sure...

Just the shield's armor. Does not apply to your body armor.

The question is answered yet, but I want to add one thing:
The shield has body armor and hitpoints. One important thing is that shieldbreaking weapons (axes, ...) ignore the body armor (dont know whether completely or partly). So if you fight against shieldbreaking weapons you will need a shield with high hitpoints and not body armor.
Generally I prefer hitpoints, not body armor.

Shield bonus weapons do not ignore body armor, they just do 2x damage.
A higher damage means a larger percentage of the damage will not be negated by armor.

Hm... thx for the info. I dont remember the thread with the info about "ignoring the armor". I read it a few months ago.
Do you know a thread with the actual info?
