Ok so I am a cav player currently using a war spear off horse, so that I can switch between that and 2 bags of javelins. Now the recent lance angle nerf seems to have balanced cav to a point where most have stopped whining about it :P however I am wondering why smaller polearms are constrained to this angle as well, which imo is a little unbalanced. I believe any polearms equal to / under 150 length should be given the old angle of attack as they are by no means in the same league as lances. A 2h sword is more than able to outrange a war spear, this was true even before the angle nerf and I think that to reflect smaller polearms difference they should be not be restricted in angle. I realise this may be a hardcoded issue but just a suggestion :)
What's your opinion?
-
the angle was changed because you can't bend your back that far to a side, and there are only 2 possibileties for angles(hardcoded), native(old one), and couch angle(one we have atm), so there isn't a midway. :/
-
I realise that but I dont want a midway point :( just back to the native way as it is more representative :/ 1h's and ha continuously do their backs round that far and players use 'r' to look through the back of the head... I think physical limits is irrelevant in this game :P

lances should be a lot longer, that solves the problem.

I'm not talking about lances not being strong enough :P I'm talking about a war spear should be more flexible off hoseback (as should shorter polearms) and so should have the native stabbing angle while lances remain with current.

but there is no reason why it should be. though spears are UP on horseback. and making lances a lot longer solves all of my problems(except the one with the weird rash on my...)
-
Clearly we have different issues :P But spears are underpowered on horseback and could be balanced by simply making them not restricted like lances :/

but like i said there is no reason why they should have a bigger angle towards lances
BTW, do you have anything against my rash?

Cause they are shorter and lighter, making it easier to wield at an angle? and unlike a lance it wouldnt be 'OP' (I use it in the sense of general opinion, which I do not share) if it was given the native angle.
There may be some creams you can buy at the pharmacist

though the weight does matter, i don't think it matters, angle wise.
they only had suppositories at the pharmacy, and that isn't going to happen

In a saddle a forward facing lance would be supported as you leant into the saddle making it easier to hold. But at 90 degrees you no longer have that support and the weight wouldnt be so focused near the pivot (the rider) like in a shorter weapon (such as a spear).
Gotta be open to new things
-
but it can't be 90 degrees again. your back can't handle that.
it is my biggest fear after getting raped by spiders with headmounted lazer guns
-
This is a game where that shouldnt matter (see previous comment about players who have eyes in the back of their helmets, and those who see round walls) and the angle reachable is closer to 90 than it is 40 :P
Oh god... Where the hell were you when this happened?

true, but that is the reason why they are probably going to make lances longer, don't know if they will do anything with lances.
