(Fiction ahead!)
I, John McMillan, hereby call all MacMillans to arms in the service of clan MacMillan! As you all know, the chief of the clan, Malcolm Mor MacMillan, has recently passed away and we are now looking for a new head of the clan to drive out those filthy sassenachs. Any McMillan who can proof his heritage and is of suiting age will be considered.

A bit of history: 14th century
An early branch of the Clan MacMillan was to be found at Loch Arkaig in Lochaber. However, tradition states that the family moved from this area on the orders of King Malcolm IV of Scotland and moved to the crown lands of Loch Tay in Perthshire. It was at these lands that Robert the Bruce was sheltered by the Clan MacMillan chief after he stabbed John Comyn the "red Comyn", chief of Clan Comyn. The Clan MacMillan again proved its loyalty to Bruce by fighting for him against the English at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 during the Wars of Scottish Independence. After the Battle of Bannockburn Robert the Bruce was so impressed with the ferocity of the MacMillan warriors that from that day forward they were entitled to wear the Red and Gold Tartan which Robert the Bruce war on that day.

Rules and guidelines

Rules:
1.   You must be a MacMillan to be part of the clan! (Wear _McMillan after your name.)
2.   Take pride in your clan. (Use the clan banner.)
3.   You must be a true Scotsman. (Use only European style equipment; straight swords, axes, etc.)
4.   Always treat your fellow Scotsmen as equals!
5.   Show no mercy to any sassenach (Englishman) or other enemies of the clan.
6.   We are a democratic lot! All important decisions will be made in unison. (An òganachs vote is worth one point, a laochs vote is worth two, a bodachs is worth three and a toiseachs vote is worth four points.)

Guidelines:
   It is highly recommended that you wear light armour and it has to look somewhat Scottish! :D
   Psst, Scottish swords, highland claymores and round shields fit very well to scottishmen. :wink:
   Not really a guideline, but seemed like the best place to squeeze it in.. The clan is primarily EU based.

P.S. All historic and language related research was done this very night, please inform me if anything is completely untrue.. Except for the fictional bit! I know that that only has very little relation to reality. :mrgreen:
Oh, and please, if you know any better scottish gaelic terms for the ranks, I'd be grateful if you informed me.

also most people look over there for a clan, you may have better chances to get noticed over there ;)

Oh, and it's based on an actual clan. I didn't know that before a quick search on Wikipedia, though. :P

I'm afraid that I can offer nothing in return except membership and a fair deal of gratitude. :wink:

Alright, just bought the ragged outfit so that I am prepared should we meet on the battlefield.

(Part time, yes, I like to play (heavy) cav once in a while, accompany Dima/ Drz, I like to have different options cos I get bored so easily.)

My main char is a lancer/ pikeman hybrid, name King_of_the_world_gen7

I will use for my part time highlander Ragged Outfit, Khergit Leather Boots, pike, long knobbed or spiked mace, and (not sure about if it fits the theme) long voulge.

I usually play at least an hour a day, usually EU1, sometimes EU2.
