Currently the light leather armor (4.5 weight) and sarranid leather amor (4.5 weight) give +2, +2, +3 for each heirloom, whereas Nomad Robe (5 weight) and some of the other 4.5 to 5 weight armor give only +1, +1, +2. As a game balance issue there should be a natural cutoff rather than an arbitrary selection among the same weight armors of which get benefits and which do not.
Added a poll.

All armors should receive same bonuses, imo.

Agreed

Light armor gets lower bonuses because archers and those who choose to enjoy the speed benefits of having low weight armor should not be afforded the same protection as those who take the penalty to speed from wearing heavier armors. All armor under 9.5 should have the same progression +1, +1, +2.

I blame the item balance team.

I think that the heirloom bonuses should be equal for all armor. After all, 2+ to all armors is justified since unlike other stats, due to the way armor works, every point of armor becomes more significant as the total armor value increases. +2 on 50 armor is worth much more than +2 on 20 armor.
For equality!

Damn Kesh... shhhh...... :P
