I've had this impression after a couple (there was only a couple since the v.2 beta start, anyway) of open field battles i've witnessed/participated in. If that's the case i'd like to say that personally i dislike it for multiple reasons : it's a tad less epic; it provides less tactical options (especially with the current spawn taking system); it looks more like a TDM with some tactics and a motivation for both sides.
I really hope it was just random and we'll see bigger maps in open field battles for Strategus in the future.
What does everyone else think ?

I can't recall if they were really reduced from the old strategus(too much time has passed)but I'd always go for medium random maps with less than 100 players and large ones with 100+, they are really enjoyable when both teams have a decent number of mercenaries(that with this version could reach 150(60+90))even if they are really huge, so +1 from me

Hmm I'm starting to think the same thing; over the last 4 field battles I've fought recently, all have been on a relatively small map.

I've also noticed this.

There seems to be more distances between the spawns in village battles than in field battles for sure.

Noticed that too.. I watched the video from the village attack Union vs Pillagers and it was really enjoyable to watch and that map was rather huge. Compared to that most battles I watched besides that were boring rush for flag and over on smaller maps.

Any chance we can get a responce from a dev ?
