Title: 2 questions regarding Strat, troll if you must.
Post by: Hardeknud on August 01, 2011, 06:16:48 am
1) how do you select "faction colour"?  (default #FFFFFF?)
2) if you fight for another commander, and that commander loses, does your character lose his gear? or just the commander?

Thanks in advance for the concise, informative responses!

1) http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp Those are all the HTML codes for colors. You replace the FFFFF... etc code with the color you want.

2) If the commander loses, he loses all of HIS gear. It's not like cRPG where you buy stuff for your own character. When you buy an item you buy it in quantities of 100 for each purchase. As a fighter, the commander is the only one who can select which gear is available and how much there is of it.

Thanks for the link hombre. And, essentially, sign up for as many battles as you please? No penalty whatsoever for a merc loss?

No penalty for mercing, you don't represent yourself but the commander's ticket.

Commander gains gold and troops > battle starts > the commander has paid for equipment (rouncey for c-rpg costs around 9k for 1, for strategus it costs 9k for 100). You can buy any amount, so you can buy 1 for 1% of the price, so 100 gold is 1 gold. > commander loses battle > MOST remaining gold and equipment becomes loot, for the winner > loser randomly spawns somewhere on the map, if the flag got captured he would have lost men from the 'rout' but not all equipment.

Uhm this is not completly right. When a commander loses, he lose all equipment that is left (not used by the "tickets") to the winner.
Gold is save, always. If a commander get his spawn flag captured he loses his equip but his men are kept.

Well then if a spawn gets captured he keeps all his remaining men and a part of his equip, but he's teleported somewhere on the map. :P

I'm not sure what you guys are saying is entirely accurate.  From what I've been told 2 or 3 times by our commanders when we captured a spawn against an enemy:

The person who's spawn got captured keeps the remaining troops (tickets), but loses all their money and equipment.  They are still in the same spot on the strategus map, but they have no money or equipment, only troop tickets.

If you kill the enemy's troops down to 0, then they lose all troops (of course), they lose all equipment, and they lose all money.  And then what you guys are saying is accurate, that they randomly spawn somewhere on the map.

I've been routed before. I lost all my equipment, kept the troops that never spawned, and kept my money. However, you only get sent to a random place on the map if you're defending. Attackers stay put even after losing
