and I'm deeply sorry!
won't happen again, i was giving out 1h bans to spectators refusing to leave. By a stroke of bad luck, berlusconi was the first i banned.
SORRY!
-
wonder if it is possible to have more than 1 main character? like having an alt named 'PRESSPASS_Billybob' that would be allowed to join strategus battles and admins would know that person has permissions from devs to spec and rebroadcast
-
If you are recording a battle talk with admins first, to make sure they won't kick you. If you don't, it's your fault.
-
next super admin :)
check server logs if you re "mighty" enough to do it. i cant do more than saying it twice.
thanks for the apology. but well, i am still banned
-
It was 1 hour Kessler.
-
In defense to the admin, I didn't read that you were recording. I'm not saying you didnt say anything, but there was a lot of spam in chat so maybe he didn't as well. And he apologized after doing it.

We're working on a system to allow some people to join a "recorder" group so they can spectate battles however they please. Stay tuned.
-
in all honesty, i think it would be better if battles could be passworded with a secret password known only to the battling factions.
PW could be communicated in battle-message.
Would be more flexible, and also automatically get rid of random spectators and people not reading the battle-messages.

You're F'ing with me, right? I'm assuming you're being sarcastic, but just because I've seen people do things that I considered too stupid for people to ever do, I'll go ahead and mention that there is a password given to battling factions communicated in the battle message.
Actually, after reading your first post in this thread, I was going to bring up why the hell admins never just password the server like that whole thing is set up for. Then kick all the specs. Hell, if you don't want to waste time kicking specs, you could just password the appropriate server a few minutes before the battle starts. If a faction hired a recorder, they could be given the pass. And one of the devs said that they actually implemented a system to where the password is taken off after the battle is over so you don't even have to unpassword it (assuming that system actually works).

Dehitay!
Chill pls.
1. The password is currently AFAIK communicated to everyone who clicks on the battle in the website. Not just to people accepted.
2. Also, not all battles have admins present.
3. I've read about that as well. But in my experience, It is not safe to test something "supposed" to work the first time, and especially not on a big battle like this was. So I decided to do it manually. I.ex we admins had the server reset function for 6+ months, but It never worked for me. Once I tried to change a map, and the server was automatically reduced to 60 players only. Had to call on irc to fix it. (So, yes as u said, I didn't want to simply assume that system actually works)
:)

So with whom do I have to talk regarding the next battle?
-
The idea for a password is spot on but in the wrong direction. Would it be possible to form a core of combat recording people that get all around passwords so that they could get into all battles and stream/record them? I think it would be easier to do this than battle leaders trying to organize combat while having people spam them about trying to get in and record and possibly removing focus from the fight.
My 2 cents.

chadz is the fucking man! O and hey I tried to watch the battles thru pwned.tv but the feed died
-
Be nice, thomek means well. Anyone can make a mistake. Don't get discouraged, us admins love people that stream battles. Keep it up!

The system is currently set up to where only those accepted into a battle can see the password.
I've actually seen the server get passworded before, but I've never been part of the battle when that has happened. So I'm curious which admins have done this. And could they tell us exactly how well/badly it worked?
What exactly do you have to do to password a server? Since I've never been an admin on a Warband server, I just assumed it was something like type "/password on". Considering that the regular crpg servers auto-password without resetting, I don't see why you would have to reset a server to activate a password.
Also, the code that unpasswords a server would only take place after a battle is over, and would only affect the battle itself if somebody made a significant mistake while coding it. I don't think you would even need to do anything for it to work other than activate the password to begin with. The only possible problem I see is if the password that's listed on the battle page for accepted applicants doesn't match the actual password for the server. In which case, I hope some admin would have already suffered this problem and reported it.

well it doesn't work like that Dehitay. The normal cRPG servers all gets pw, when they reach full capacity. cRPG 1 only removes pw when its down to 100 or so players again. This is to prevent people trying to click themselves into the server, causing lags.
Actually, yesterday I did try to set a pw on the strat server, but I didn't have enough access level.
So I'll continue my warning of people 3-4 times before i 1h ban them in full strat battles.
