I've been disconnecting very often and sometimes losing 5x multiplier (fuuuuu) because of my wireless and sometimes my ram filled up ending in an instant crash, I asked in irc if they could somehow save the multiplier upon disconnecting(obviously losing it if team loses) ending up with this answer : [21:03] <@Urist> why should we want to?
I know this could be somehow abused if not done with some thought, opinions please? I'm pretty sure im not the only one disconnecting.

Nothing is more frustrating than losing your x5 to a damned error message at map ends.

Point is, alt+f4 to dc?
-
Good idea! Recently I get a lot of map end error, and it's pretty annoying when you lose x5.
-
Any answers fron devs?

+ 3 for me and my 2 Legionairres.

The only bad thing I can see is people hitting Alt X to crash the game if they are about to lose a game to keep a X5, though in the end the loading screens would make it be a slow and painful process...

I think I wrote:

Heh ToD you feeling alright mate?
We need solutions here, I think we know most of the problems already(non-coding wise)

i like the idea but so easily abused :
My team is going to lose, ooops I'v been disconnected!

Why do you ask?

I whole heartedly agree. If we can think up (right now I am too burnt out after a long day) some solutions on how to prevent abuse, I would love to see this implemented, as I have had far too many games DC on me or have a Runtime error during a high multiplier, which makes me a little sad...

Pretty much the same thing as I posted.
Also: woops, did I just plug out my internet cable?

Make a table in memory:
player, team, multi
(* number of people possible on server)
on start of round:
clear and fill the table
on end of round:
if player is in table and the team (taken from the table, not from current team) won player keeps multiplier
I don't see how you'd be able to abuse it, disconnect and reconnect you still loose multi if your team looses. You can go to another server but it starts with x1. If you don't reconnect before new round starts you loose multiplier. How would it be abuseable? Well, you could alt+x to avoid -1 to k:d and come back again just as you now can go to spectator.
And you loose all xp from ongoing round. Anything else?
-
Well if they managed to save xp in old strategus battles after disconnecting im sure they can figure this one easily, thing is most of the devs and alot of players have a stable connection and don't give a damn about us.
-
It's not only for accidental disconnections that we need something like this. One of the most annoying things is when you really really have to get ready for work or something but you have that 5x. You should be able to disconnect and keep it if your team wins the current round.

[11:42] <@chadz> it's in the cba department, probably
[11:42] <@chadz> and i'm actually one that disconnects quite regularly
Oh well.
Note guys, im not talking about a system that can be abusable like if disconnecting you keep your multiplier even if your team loses, no.
In old strategus people disconnected in strat battles and lost their accumulated xp, then they fixed it by saving xp every minute, and one wouldnt make xp if he was offline, it would stay at the amount it was at when the player disconnected, what im saying is, they are more than capable of making a non-abusable system.

Happend to me sometimes, yesterday i was in a x5 raw on siege and connection lost in middle of the fight, was disgusted and closed the game. Good news it was time to sleep.
I guess this is an anti addic protection, to help you quit cRPG and go to sleep or do something usefull in RL.
This could be cool if chadz found a simple solution, no need to lose too much time on this (except for ppl who disconnect every 10min ofc)

Well I dont care about this so much now cause I bought a new wireless card, and its much more stable and I have 70 ping, pretty amazing for me since I always had 90-300.
But still thee are lots of people out there that disconnect very often and I know its very frustrating because it happened to me too.
