The Saga of Dishonour
(or How exploiting, intentional or not, hurts the community)
by Grey (not of the 22nd or Grey order, thanks)
(excuse my spelling, I never learnt English in school)
This is a cautionary tale of loss and woe,
of how one day we spared our foe,
and like the worthless men we are,
we pushed the rules, a bit too far.
I tell this tale, as I was there that day,
that we made the game glitch-out and pay,
excessive rewards for our shameful acts,
we killed OUR BROTHERS with sword and axe.
I can only speak for myself, for me,
when I say I don't want this cash for free,
nor do I want this level gain,
I play for fun, its not a pain.
I joined the teamspeak, as you do,
to my clanmates: Where are you?
We defend this maiden fair,
NA_DTV, we'll see you there
Once I joined, to my pain,
I was struck down, once and again.
Like a child I sought not why,
I joined the fight with a lusty cry!
But these were not my sworn opponents,
it was my friends I killed these moments.
And to my undying shame,
we all got much illicit gain.
During the scuffle I read the words,
that gold and XP were my rewards.
Now I see that this was not false,
I gained levels and something else:
I gained a STAIN upon my soul:
its not my way to play it foul!
I did not mean to reap such crops,
I just teamkilled, lots and lots!
What can I do to make this good?
If I could remove the gains, I would!
But since Im not the Dev, I cant,
Instead I must type out this chant...
I am a truly shamed and sorry man,
I shamed myself and my brave clan,
I cheated and know that it was wrong,
and make my amends in part through song:
When one person, through deceptions takes,
the reward that only HOURS makes,
all those who must slog behind,
rightly think WHY DO I GRIND?
When this slimy and deceptive man,
runs around in a Helm and a TinCan,
why should I keep working hard,
for less rewards, that's simply mad!
Others hear of this low act,
and put down the sword, and break the pact,
They will not return to these fields of glory,
I dont play with cheaters, sorry!
These are just two of the many ways,
I hurt this mod by illegal plays.
Some are temped to cheat as well,
others tell the mod Go to hell
I would never desire or wish,
to drag others into this ditch:
Head my words and what I say,
Glitching really DOES NOT PAY.
Above I listed, just why not:
even if you get to the very top,
and no one questions your success,
your karma will be a frightful mess:
Because those you cheated will be sore,
and some will quit, and play no more,
and others seeing your stolen riches,
think I must find myself some glitches!
because rats can only breed one thing,
MORE RATS, and never, ever, kings.
This is how I hurt the game,
and its to my quite rightful shame.
As of this time, and date,
upon the admins I must wait.
I truly did not think or plan,
to steal from my brother man.
But in essence tis what Ive done,
Ive stolen all the joy and fun,
from a game I love SO MUCH,
and in my shame my head I clutch.
WOE IS ME, MY TALE IS OVER,
Im now merely a homeless rover,
no mod to play, no friends to thank,
when they save me from a gank.
I only hope my tale serves others,
to not try to cheat their brothers.
Worse than the imposed ban,
is the shame I feel, Im not a man.
I behaved like a slimy rat,
and I accept the result of that,
but heed my warning well:
IF YOU CHEAT, YOU GO TO HELL!

RE-EDIT: Its very easy to read my name at the top and hit 1, but if you HAVE read through and DO give it a 1 or 2 (as some have) have the decency to leave a comment on WHY you did so. Self Improvement without pointers can be hard.

Im still waiting to speak to w/e admin thinks they banned me that day when I took justice into my hands and killed that guys stolen horse:
I dont feel what I did was outrageous, he teamkilled a guy and stole his horse, so I took the horse from him, the only way I could, with an arrow. I wasnt banned for it, neither that day or a subsequent one, and I am more than willing to explain my actions in detail, but my accuser in that case, I honestly believe, was just raging cause his little bullying plan didnt pay off....

How long did you spend writing this? it would take me days to figure out the rhymes, half way through I would be quoting Doctor Seuss.

If the community was spanish language based I could have done better....wasnt meant to impress in and of itself....

Nah, Im getting to write this AND a weeks ban, for not recalling exactly how long I was on there when I spoke to Espu....Oh, and HEAVY EXPLOITING, for my few minutes playing there while the lunacy happend. Can you say scapegoat? And now its seems from other's posts that Ithilien was promoting this glitch: I dont know about that, but he then raged at Espu about the ban, and it seems I'm being punished for my behaviour AND that of another who I neither know well nor can control....makes me very :cry:

Haha thank you. It's a cow costume. I got it around Halloween last year and he just looked so adorable I had to take a picture. Well adorable and miserable, so often do those two go together. :mrgreen:

I think it was well written and that he has thought about what he has done and understood what he did wrong besides, it was a fine text that explains a lot of detail so you understand what's happened, 5 / 5 you get out me and a + with that you wrote very well for not being English from the beginning

Ohhh lolwen, you would be a great person if you understand dramatised speechs and using caps, because these types of poems are supposed to be told in person, and so to demonstrate how things are goining, they SHOUT but I guess you never will learn...

Thanks man for trying to explain, but I believe Olwen is just trolling me, cause I refuse to accept him as my hero :D
But yeah, your right, I did type it while I "sung" it in my head, and the caps bits are for emphasis....
BTW: If you read it aloud, taking into account the timing and emphasis, I think it sounds pretty good....might have discovered a new vocation :D

5/5. Wicked poem even if it didn't scan perfectly.
When I get the time and if it wouldn't cause any offence, I would love to have a go at putting it into iambic pentameter (10 syllables per line in rough couplets, wot shakezpeer did innit).
Truly deserving of an unban, and with alacrity, at that.

Hey thanks. Im confused tho:
1. Didn't scan? You mean you didn't like its formatting? or you think I typed it out, printed it and then scanned it?
2. I didn't really think about iambic pentameter, of course I know what it is, but: I dont rate Shakespear: He was just the Andrew Lloyd Weber of his time: Making cheap masss production crap entertainment for oi poloi. Just as Gilbert and Sullivan, Andrew LLoyd Weber, and other English "Pop Drama" writers are now considered "National Treasures" in the UK, so is Shapespear: We are told HE IS SO AMAZING AND GOOD AND HIS STUFF IS SO POWERFUL IF YOU DONT LIKE IT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND, we eventually don't question it anymore and judge for ourselves:
Shakespear from a INDEPENDANT review: 1 tempo throughout. Repetetive storylines. Jokey fake language (People in England DID NOT SPEAK LIKE HE WROTE, then or at ANY point in History). Made up histories of factual places, as in he could not be bothered to find out, he just made up.
I could go on, but the short version is: I don't rate Shakespear much above J.K. Rowling, and if you HONESTLY think the "Harry Potter" series has ANY redeeming literary factors, you really need to go read a good book.
I can make recomendations. I am old and boring, but the side effect of this is my library is.....well, I have more books than pennies in the bank tbh. I cannot even use my balcony for boxes of books stacked out there... and out of them all, I would never pick up and RE-read any Shakespear, and ultimately THAT is the measure of good writing: Not can you sucker ppl into watching your play, or buying your book: How often will people COME BACK to it. Harry Potter, NEVER. Shakespear.....Maybe, Othello and a couple of others teach good lesson about how women will never take the easy route to solving misunderstandings....that seems to have held solid for a good few centuries now :D

You couldnt even get the 2nd line to have the same number of syllables as the first....all you had to do was add the word "just" infront of "fucked"...It lol that you even failed at trolling.
