Title: General strategus information - FAQ
Post by: CrazyCracka420 on July 21, 2011, 09:46:07 pm
There should be a FAQ or a general information guide compiled

Some of the things I have questions about include:

*The spawn points and capturing them (I'm assuming you just hold the use key until the bar fills up, but we did this yesterday after the spawn was captured and people still couldn't spawn)

*What happens if you are attacked and you lose all your troops (do you just lose troops and your money goes to the other player, are you in a "time out" for a certain period of time, do you have to create a new char for strategus and start over)

*If there is battle scheduled for a village, can another faction come in and initiate a battle for it?

This is a great idea. I also don't have anything to add but more questions:

* When you capture a village's spawn point while the village has troops left, do they "disappear," or are they absorbed into the conquering army? This one has been floating around for a while.

* Can troops from the same faction reinforce one of their attacking armies that has initiated a battle?

FAQ's are so 1990's, get with the times

Get crackin', anyone can add to the wiki.

Anyone know how to do columns in wiki format?  I wasted about 30minutes and never got'em to work.  Anyone else have OCD to document information like me?

There's not even a mention of strategus on the wikipedia page.  And I think if someone had the information we were looking for (say, a developer for example) maybe they could answer the questions (and add some of their own information) and sticky a post.  Seems like it would be pretty helpful considering there is no information about strategus for the new players.

theres a strategus page, just no link to it.  I just added strategus under 'game modes' and linked to that old page.

THe thing is, its hard to organize because its basically a hole other game inside itself

Does anyone know if you attack at say 12:30 does the battle start at 1 or 12, 24 hours later (ignoring if there is a queue)??  I forgot how this is rounded.  Thanks.

I'm not really sure if there's no battles when your battle would be scheduled for.  As it currently stands, if you want to schedule a battle you can just wait until you see a battle taking place an hour before you want to do yours.  Sign up and now you're at that time.

currently if you scheduled a battle now, it would be set for over 24 hours away.

One useful thing I can add to the list is how to toggle between different views on the strategus web page.

You can get to the "news" section without leaving the village/castle/city you're in, but going to :  http://strategus.c-rpg.net/news.php
And to get back to the regular view just delete the news.php and hit enter

is the server for the battle listed anywhere? I"m not seeing it, would kinda be useful info.  Is it determined by attacker or defender?

Defender, unless its a neutral fief, then the attacker.  9747 = North American 3, 7298 = EU 3, under the battle menu on main crpg page

when does merc payment occur, after the battle has concluded?  Would be nice if there was some sort of transaction log to see who has paid you and with how much

So why is there some attackers with 0 players signed up and tons of defenders? Does that clan just at the last minute accept all of its own members to attack? Also those neutral villages do they have TS?

1. They accept players last moment/if they are on TS, depends on clan.
2. No.

What happens if you attack someone outside the village while staying in it?
