Title: CRUSADERS OF ACRE CLOVEN UNDER THE MIGHT OF BIRD CLAN
Post by: partyboy on July 19, 2011, 05:07:50 am: In one of our trademark lightning attacks, the mighty BIRD CLAN has attacked and destroyed the pathetic armies led by Reinhardt, King of the Crusaders of Acre. The mewling pack of cowards known that have banded together under the Acre banner were entirely annhilated in the mountain range of the Sarranid Desert. Their upstart "King" was slain and lies unburied in the desert, bloating in the hot sun.

In confidential messages sent to BIRD CLAN, the pretender King begged for mercy for his arrogance:

It will record whatever resolution the game is running at. I do use a codec that reduces the quality slightly but renders at 1920x1080.

Yup, and Fraps goes up to 2560X1600 at 120 fps for max recording(though you best have a lot of spare memory)

1.) You can still see everything adequately
2.) The file size ends up being tiny at the cost of very little quality

30 FPS is generally good. I record at 60 FPS but that's just wasting HDD space because I render at 30 FPS.

It will record a 1600x900 avi video file if you are running the game at that resolution.

Video files are not constrained to HDTV display resolution standards (1280x720/1920x1080)

but why make it 1080p if its on par with 720p

that file there was like 20megs and took me like 15mins to render and upload. Well like 20 or so

What codec/settings/software?

I'm testing a new settings set for our most recent battle. My file sizes were a tad larger than normal due to 320kbps audio quality recently. I'm trying a more video-centric less audio-centric settings set. That said it is still the sony AVC codec (.mp4)

Sony Vegas. I'll most likely be switching to Premiere Pro / After Effects soon.

e: Im not home right now but my 20min review of Acre vs. Mit Nun on 480p was like 200 megs with soundtrack. Hmm I should make it HD but Basic on Vimeo wont let me do that

Yeah the camera movement on the first video is so bad it hurts my eyes. On the newest video I believe it's leaps and bounds above and is apparently going to render in about 2.5 hours. Still a tad more movement but I do pause for some periods. Usually I've found movement on one axis is better. Only turn OR zoom in or out OR pan the camera, doing two of these at the same time = no thank you. Also keeping those movements to a minimum is generally a good idea I've found. Anyway I'm not great at taking and editing videos but hope to improve through people's feedback. I'll release a montage of various events with some more advanced effects as a "Recruitment" video of sorts using the footage from our various battles.
