Balanced 18/18 at lvl 30 is good for beginners. everything maxed, so 6 ps, ath, wm. Ironflesh is not needed in my opinion, you got a shield for that.^^

As a new player you will be making ALOT of mistakes and shield isnt going to protect you against these. Ironflesh is HIGHLY recommended!
As a new player, dont bother money in riding, it is very expensive

yep and that build isnt for a noobie either. Its for someone who knows when to swing and not get caught. Noobie should have as much IF as possible as they're learning swing timing and reach. Hes going to get caught alot in the middle of an attack and IF helps keep him alive so he can learn from his mistake, not watch a respawn timer

21/15
7 PS
7 IF
5 Shield
5 Ath
5 WM
By far the most resilient 1h build.

Well, my build has 10% fewer hitpoints (59 rather than 65) but does 16% more damage. I don't think that particular difference in hitpoints is as noticeable as the increase in damage, especially for a shield user. The extra damage would also give him more leeway in attack accuracy, since the extra damage would increase the angle for solid hits a bit. But hey, how it works out in practice is never really predictable, and all this is a matter of opinion. Marathon's post is a nice, happy medium between our already marginally different builds.

+1, and the overheads are deadly.

Equiment then? :D
-
I use light kuyak, nordic warlord helm, nordic champs sword and elite cav shield (because it's fast).
-
ok :)
But i heard 21/15 is bad.
-
Well, it's not. 7 Power Strike hurts.

For an experienced player: Yes.
For a new player:
18/18 with 6 IF, PS, Ath, WM and 5 shield or 21/15 7 IF/PS and 5 shield/ath/wm.
I prefer the latter build. Imo, it's the best overall shielder build. The other builds or variations out there serve their purpose, but have to make sacrifices. The 21/15 build doesn't.

I am an experieced player, yes. But not in cRPG

Spawny and others are right. 21/15 or 18/18 are great 1h builds.
