Title: New type of cav

So I was thinking all we have right now are horses, but I think players want to ride something different like: camels, bears, moose’s, elephants, etc. I think it would be killer to see a guy riding a bear into war would that not be awesome.

Camels? Sure. I would support that.

Elephants? It would be tricky to give them the power they deserve and remain balanced.

Is there any mod M&B or Warband that has decently well done alternative mounts? I'm not talking about camels, but things radically different than horses like elephants or chariots?

The only one's I have seen are just scaled up versions of a horse and it looks goofy as shit.

Actually war elephants would be very very awesome and fun both to play and to try and take down. Also some sort of npc 'war' dog or whatever that you can buy who accompanies you to battle (and you can command) that attacks enemies for you would be neat. Even like an eagle or something which could stun enemies.

Also giraffe archers. Kidding.

How about a donkey? cheaper than a horse, slower than a horse faster than a running man. Meant for transport of a player or equipment?
Carrying extra material, ladders, construction site, weapons, bolts and arrows?

I would like camels for the saranids.

Take a look at this video to see some of the clear benefits of camelcav instead of horsecav...

The horsemen gets crowded by the peasants and dehorsed.
While the camelcav has a great advantage in that he is sitting higher up.

There was a mode for Mount and Blade version 0.751 and 0.808. It was a mod about middle earth, the name was "The Last Days" if I remember the name right. And there were wargs to ride into battle (charge skill was really great). The only thing fault of the wargs that they use the same sound of horses when they rear up. Since then the modders just made stupid mods over and over and over again about realistic stuff. Thus, we see a thread who has trolls that are trolling. Bear cavalry is a good idea for a mod I think, elephants and camels are indeed. But personally, in cRPG it is something I do not recommend.

But worry not I've heard Armagan said there will be camels in Warband 2 and maybe elephants too.

Now I'd like to have those camels, the only problem is. There would be massive whine if the developers made Horses scared of camels with all due realism.

Al-Adin's flying carpet is already in game  :D

Camels and Elephants agree.

We can use elephants like tower. One rider move and bump, archers and throwers use elephants cabin.

Camels are not fast but strong animals, camels and elephants are add more realism in game.

For themed factions, sure!  ... but then i dont wanna see any european-knight riding a war-elephant/camel and screaming "Trolololololololololo!!!"  :wink:

(Me too) I dont like arabian style items but its more realistic. World use this animals in real wars. But i dont see bear riding, is bear domesticated ?
