Hello all.
I'm trying to use my long hafted blade off horseback. I'v been testing on my fellow team mates the damage i inflicted at full speed. it would only inflict 15% damage (loomed once, 38 cut)
when i try with a sword i achieve 65% damage!
knowing that my wpf in polearms is much higher and that sword has got inferior cut damage, what am i doing wrong?

What speed are you going at? Also does the server have team FF set at a smaller percentage than 100%? These are some possible exclamations.

I was trying it out on a destrier at full speed on the duel server.
when i went full speed i would get greater damage with my nordic champion sword

if i recall correctly, there is one anymation hitting against, and the other with the direction of youre movement. maybe that makes a difference?
at least i always try to hit into the movement
-
Maybe 2h and pole lose damage when on horseback and 1h doesn't.
-
I always hit in the direction of the movement. the other way seems kind of useless.
i tried with the hafted blade and it does lore damage. is it the speed rating of the weapon, is the fact that the long hafted blade is longer?

I think it might be possible that you suffer the 2h weapon penalty to damage and speed when. 2h weapons suffer -35% (or something like that) speed and damage penalties when used on horseback and/or with a shield. Maybe it's the same for polearms. The heavy lance does great damage because of the piercing type.

if that's the case, there goes my cunning plan of combining a lance and a polearm that would be effective on foot aswell

I don't know how you could do that, the lance isn't sheathable. If you have a lance, you don't need another weapon for mounted combat. You can use another polearm when you are on foot, and the LHB is a good choice.
