Skills are coded to be effective to a max of 15.

If you Don't believe me, make a STF character with 13 shield skill and a crappy horrible shield and just block constantly. it will never break as each rank of shield will be an 8% damage reduction to the shield itself, so 8%*13skill=104% damage reduction thus an invincible shield.

Anyone who says otherwise is a LIAR! Or a ToD wannabe....

10+ skills are working from the january or march patch... i'm sure now it works. even devs stated that in a thread.

^ for EU servers.  I think NA servers just got this in the recent patch.

From a practical purpose though you're probably getting about the same effect from your character between 10 PS and 15 PS imo... sure you'll 1 shot MORE people with lower armor/hp when you get beyond 10, but it will probably still stay in the general 1-2 hit kill area.

Yes, we tested the "invincible" shield thing with 13 shield skill (and earned a few interesting... events... from it) on NA. It works 100% there now.

As for the super high PS, I would only go above ten if you are using a lower damage weapon then normal, such as a HBS, in which case my 12PS needs it a bit. Otherwise yeah 10 is pretty much as high as you would reasonably want to go. 36/3 may be fun but 30/6 or 30/9 is a bit more competetive in battle mode.

With 0 athletics, if you play in Siege you will be marvelous, but in battle your 12PS 11IF build will have to "predict" the future a bit to avoid being left behind. Stay in the thick of things near the front, never stop to do anything that can leave you behind (even if it is to finish off someone).

agreed. near zero athletics, will get you surrounded and ganked 24/7. since long maul or great maul is mostly killing support build, you have to move with an acceptable speed to be in the right place at the right time. and example a great maul will 1-2hit most of the time... with 8PS or 12PS. with 12PS you have indeed better damage. but with 8PS and some athletics+profiency, you will have better speed bonus and faster footwork + blocking speed.

another thing. with 3 agi, 1ath and heavy armor, almost all players will stay away your weapon range simply backpedaling. i would ever never go under 3-4 athletics for a decent damage dealer in battle.

my main 2hander build go with mallet and claymore (24/15 at level 29 and 27/15 at level 32) with only maxed PS WM ATH and 2 spare points on IF. wearing medium armor (studded leather over mail) and 5ath, i have some decent speed to quicky take down retreating shielders, decent swing speed to use the mallet on slower axes, poleaxes, bardiches, good footwork to be where team needs to, decent movement to not be surrounded so easly.

To be fair though, not everyone is a chambering machine like you either.

I think the average person (especially new people) would find your build rough to play.

It's very hard, but very very fun!

I totally agree with that, I have a 33/3 2-hander myself.  :D
