Its laying on my cupboard since yesterday, I have to wait until tommorrow after exam to start reading. Damn, I never were this much excited about a book before and I can't stop looking at it. As I can't stop distracing myself on this silly forum :|

i actually been waiting ages but decided to re-read all the books before so its all fresh ;), but cant wait. i thought the last one was kind of shit, compared to all the other books, cause it had the worst POV;s but this one promises to be much better.

no, don't know that for sure. how many times has he ended a book or chapter leaving us to think a character is dead (davos at the end of book 4, brienne being hanged, the hound) and then have them come back? it's entirely possible wun wun killed everyone in that hall, the wildlings came and helped him, etc

i can't remember anything from book 3 and 4. it was like 10 yrs between books.

I am a few chapters into the new book, and I am finding it unreadable. The writing is very flabby, especially after reading higher quality works of literature by the masters. When there are so many stupid names mentioned and crap i think "what the fuck is this author doing." A good writer can tell a story in a few hundred pages with a clearer and concise style.

Regarding Stannis.  Davos also apparently died in the last book, by means of a letter.  Wasn't the case, as I suspected. 
Jon.  Melisandre needs only do a Thoros of Myr on him and he's back in the action, that is if he actually is dead.

I am once again unsure of the direction the characters are going, I cannot foresee Jon dying before his parentage is confirmed (personally I believe he is Lyanna's son from Reagar).  Martin continues to surprise me.
