Title: Fix CRPG_North_America
Post by: SeQuel on July 12, 2011, 04:36:35 am
It's really annoying to sit here @ lobby and spam refresh for the password to come off the server. There are 60/80 people and I can't join.

Can't you make it like 70/80? I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by this.

It gets passworded at 80/80 but there are no admins on our vent right now and if there are some IN the server, they aren't aware.

Believe it's unpassed now though.

Yah I got in, but the point is that why is it so low? I mean 20 slots is pretty big. I don't see why someone should have to wait so long to get in a server that already has 11 slots available.

why not just lower the maximum players allowed and get rid of the password, whats the point?  are these servers sharing the same box?

I think the password was there originally as a hold over from when we first got a NA server. The EU servers had the password because their was 2 servers and the password was on there for 2 minutes or whatever to encourage people to join the other server instead of just pounding join over and over on the full one.

I wish we could consolidate some of the NA servers into a bigger 120 man or 150 man. It's kind of neat to go on the 120 player EU sever and see like 6 clans on each team working together in little units. NA seems like we have a lot of the clans all go off to their own servers. Obviously this would probably never happen because it would require clans to pool money to get properly powerful servers but it would be cool.

It does not get locked at 60/80. It gets locked at 80/80. This is to prevent people constantly clicking connect. It drains server resources.

Just wanted to add that this is completely out of the NA server's hands. The lock and password to prevent rejoin spamming is a cRPG "feature" and cannot be modified or turned off.

Why is there even a password on the NA server?
Just delete the password there.

How is it even possible people clicking the connect button influences the server.
I never seen it happen in other games :s
